Full Job Description
You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the HEADQUARTERS TECHNOLOGY DIVISION (N64) of MARITIME OPERATIONS CENTER.

Duties

Help

  • You will serve as a Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Project Manager for live real-time Collaboration Technologies in support of COMPACFLT.
  • You will develop methods, approaches, policies, and procedures for COMPACFLT related to Navy Enterprise IT process improvements and IT efficiency initiatives.
  • You will lead, direct, and manage the productivity, cost effectiveness, and mission alignment of COMPACFLT's implementation of Navy Information Dominance Approval System (NAV-IDAS).
  • You will provide substantive contributions to long-range planning for collaboration program implementation in support of COMPACFLT operations and components.
  • You will lead and facilitate face-to-face and virtual discussion groups to actively solicit inputs from COMPACFLT Staff and subordinate command representatives.
  • You will analyze the COMPACFLT IT Collaboration Portfolio Management functions and processes to identify and propose improvements.
  • You will ensure the effectiveness of applied methods and approaches for sharing information through collaboration tools using IT assets.
  • You will improve operational effectiveness and achieves efficiencies by making substantive contributions to the development of new collaboration concepts for COMPACFLT that leverage available and proposed IT resources.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, analyzing ,developing or implementing Navy IT systems, networks, and applications; Video teleconference systems (VTC) implementation, scheduling, bridging technologies with supporting real world and exercise scenarios; IT investment strategy and asset management functions and processes to identify and propose improvements; and the development of complex, advanced information systems by applying current constraints imposed by law and regulations.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
