Description
This position is responsible for managing the continuous availability of network information systems environment, server environment, support the production floor traceability environment and adhere to corporate IT policies and procedures at a local facility. The primary focus is to configure, maintain, control, troubleshoot and monitor the facility's LAN resources, coordinate projects, supervise local plant IT Specialists, and provide first level support for all processes including shop floor applications. A secondary focus is to coordinate with Corporate/Shared Services Information Technology (IT) team members to configure and maintain the local IT systems.
Principal Accountabilities:
Manage the set-up and maintenance of LAN-based information systems to include configuration and tuning, upgrades, performance monitoring and usage reporting
Maintains the integrity of the LAN-based information systems environment by ensuring upgrades/ service packs/etc are implemented as required
Analyze technology trends to provide recommendations for the improvement, implementation and/or execution of appropriate information systems solutions on the production floor
Develop, manage and adhere to IT budgets for both site requirements and new program-based expenses
Manage local IT personnel. Including coverage hours, crisis support, training and processes.
Performs other duties as assigned by IT management
Adheres to and enforces Corporate IT Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
Perform "on call" assignments, as required, by responding to problem situations, following procedures for problem resolution and reporting, and engaging in follow-up analysis to determine and eliminate causes of errors
May be required to support both the Troy and Auburn Hills locations
Position Requirements
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Administration, MIS, Engineering, or other computer related area or equivalent lesser degree and/or related IT experience
5-7 years of experience in an IT role, preferably automotive or industrial
Preferred
Working knowledge of IT infrastructure services including Microsoft Windows server administration, network monitoring, SQL, C# programming and MES.
Working knowledge of SQL, C# programming and MES
Good analytical evaluating and problem-solving abilities
Effective communicator (written, spoken, peers, operators, managers)
