Position SummaryThe IT Project Portfolio Manager is responsible for leading the digital technology project portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and financial objectives. This role involves managing financial processes related to IT spend, developing and maintaining project management methodologies, and collaborating across teams to optimize project delivery, budgeting, and vendor relationships. The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives, promote innovation, and provide clear reporting on project performance and financial health.
Key Responsibilities - Lead financial governance for digital IT spending, including OPEX and CAPEX, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and vendor consolidation.
- Develop, maintain, and promote standardized processes for managing both traditional and agile projects, as well as overseeing the project portfolio and facilitating annual planning.
- Establish evaluation criteria and prioritize projects by analyzing their interrelationships, strategic value, and resource requirements.
- Collaborate with procurement to analyze vendor portfolios, contracts, and financial performance, producing reports and financial forecasts.
- Identify financial trends, recommend sourcing strategies, and support contract improvements to optimize sourcing and spending efficiency.
- Work closely with leadership and teams to ensure budgets are accurate, costs are controlled, and contracts are compliant.
- Manage budgeting activities including OPEX, global chargebacks, and CAPEX, and oversee project forecasting and billing in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist teams in aligning project portfolios with strategic business roadmaps.
- Monitor ongoing projects, creating dashboards and reports on portfolio health, including schedules, budgets, risks, and benefits realization.
- Coordinate with various departments to report on project progress and expenditures.
- Support financial management efforts, ensuring compliance with guidelines, tracking key performance metrics, and managing vendor relationships.
- Lead the annual budgeting cycle, monitor budget execution, and ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
- Coach project managers, scrum masters, and IT leaders on management processes, translating portfolio decisions into actionable project plans.
- Prepare presentations for senior leadership to communicate project activities, results, and strategic priorities.
- Foster process innovation within the IT organization to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience analyzing financial data or purchasing activities related to IT.
- 2-3 years of project management experience, with a track record of managing multiple projects.
- At least 2 years experience managing or leading teams.
- Proficient in SAP and Power BI.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial concepts such as ROI, payback, and rate of return.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies including PMI and Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
- Ability to analyze IT and business operations to effectively prioritize projects and facilitate governance.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in cloud technologies and current infrastructure market trends.
- Proven ability to operate effectively within a global organization, leveraging cross-border relationships and expertise.
