Job Summary

The IT Program Manager leads and oversees complex, large-scale transformational IT programs, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, driving measurable outcomes, and optimizing processes through strategic leadership, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration.

This role partners closely with IT leadership, executive stakeholders, product owners, and business teams to plan, govern, and deliver complex initiatives that modernize technology, processes, and operating models. The IT Program Manager is accountable for program execution, stakeholder alignment, financial oversight, and measurable results across multiple concurrent initiatives.

This position is required to report to the Somerset, NJ or Austin, TX office on a hybrid basis.

Role Description
  • Define, document, and continuously improve the intake process using industry frameworks.
  • Evaluate and qualify incoming project/program requests for alignment with business goals, completeness, feasibility, and resource requirements.
  • Lead stakeholder discussions for intake, scoping, and prioritization; manage conflicting priorities and drive consensus.
  • Oversee prioritization forums and make recommendations on capacity, resource allocation, and trade-offs.
  • Monitor and report on intake and program performance metrics; provide transparent status updates to stakeholders.
  • Oversee acceptance, review, and communication at each intake stage, ensuring strong program governance.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate program risks.
  • Conduct value realization reviews of completed projects, capturing outcomes versus expectations and implementing lessons learned.
  • Manage program budgets, resource planning, and financial forecasting; ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, business units, finance, and transformation offices; leverage steering committees for program governance.
  • Lead adoption of best practices, change management initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop annual plans for BAU (business-as-usual) and transformation project requests.

Other Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience managing large-scale, cross-functional IT programs or projects.
  • 3-5 years of overall project or program management experience, preferably within IT or technology-enabled environments
  • Demonstrated success in leading transformational IT initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of project and program management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Experience managing budgets, resource allocation, and program governance.
  • Proven ability to engage and align diverse stakeholder groups.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Master's degree in Business, Technology, or related field.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program/project management certification.
  • Experience leading enterprise modernization, cloud transformation, or AI-enabled initiatives
  • Background in operating model or large-scale organizational transformation
  • Experience with AI, cloud, or other modern digital transformation tools and frameworks.
  • Experience working in highly regulated or global environments.
  • Advanced skills in program portfolio management and benefit realization.


The estimated annual pay range for this position is $120,000 - $170,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
