Job Summary
IT Manager oversees an organization's technology infrastructure and operations, ensuring systems are reliable, efficient, and secure. They lead IT teams, manage projects, and align technology strategies with business goals. Their responsibilities include strategic planning, budgeting, and ensuring the security and compliance of IT systems.
Essential Functions
• Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with the company's business objectives.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies that enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
• Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the IT department.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and systems.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of IT systems to meet business needs.
• Lead IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to SLAs.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to optimize IT procurement and vendor management processes.
• Implement and maintain IT security policies and procedures to protect company data and systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
• Develop and manage IT budgets, allocating resources effectively to support business initiatives.
• Monitor and control IT expenditures to optimize cost-effectiveness and ROI.

Responsibilities
Education
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience
• Prior experience of 5+ years in IT management roles, with a proven track record of leadership and success.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure, systems administration, and network management.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to align IT strategies with business goals and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team, manage projects, and resolve conflicts.
Other Requirements
• Local and regional travel by automobile and periodic need to travel by airline.
• This position requires knowledge and awareness of mining and construction site hazards.
• May be required occasionally to use protective gear and to take other precautions when in or near a mining/construction site.
• Must be able work in a stressful, deadline oriented environment that requires complex, technical information and decision making
• Sets and clearly communicates expectations and accountabilities.
