We are seeking a full-time
IT Manager to lead our technology operations and help shape the future of technology at Pellitteri Waste Systems. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership position responsible for ensuring our technology supports the company's continued growth while identifying new opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase profitability.
The IT Manager will work closely with company leadership and departments across transportation, waste recovery, recycling, MRF operations and confidential document destruction.
Responsibilities:- Lead, manage and develop the IT department and establish department goals and priorities
- Develop and execute IT strategies that support company-wide operational and financial goals
- Manage and improve technology supporting transportation, truck systems, MRF operations, recycling and data destruction
- Identify and implement AI, automation and emerging technologies that improve efficiency, productivity, reporting, customer service and decision-making
- Evaluate opportunities to use AI to reduce repetitive work, improve processes and provide better business insights
- Establish responsible AI, data security and technology-use practices
- Manage IT projects, budgets, vendors, contracts and technology investments
- Partner with senior leadership to evaluate technology costs, risks, benefits and return on investment
- Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, security standards and data-management practices
- Lead multiple projects and priorities while providing hands-on technical and strategic support
- Ensure IT operations comply with applicable company, state and federal requirements
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Technology or related field and/or 7+ years of relevant IT experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven success using technology to improve financial and operational performance
- Strong knowledge of IT systems supporting trucking, fleet operations, MRF/recycling and data destruction is highly desirable
- Experience with AI, automation and emerging technologies, with the ability to identify practical business applications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and strategic-planning skills
- Strong leadership, communication and team-development abilities
- Thorough understanding of data management, cybersecurity and confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
- Strong vendor-management and relationship-building skills
- High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both employees and company leadership
- IT, cybersecurity, cloud or project-management certifications are welcomed but not required
