Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager II to oversee technical infrastructure projects, including infrastructure patching, upgrades, hardware lifecycle initiatives, migrations, and platform consolidations. This role is responsible for project planning, resource coordination, budget and timeline management, stakeholder communication, and ensuring successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure concepts and demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and oversee technical infrastructure projects, including patching, upgrades, migrations, hardware refreshes, and platform consolidations.
- Define project goals, scope, timelines, deliverables, and implementation strategies.
- Develop project plans, assign tasks and resources, and monitor progress toward project objectives.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, resources, costs, and profit targets.
- Identify project risks and issues, coordinate solutions, and implement necessary changes to maintain project schedules.
- Provide regular project status updates and executive-level reporting to stakeholders.
- Manage and communicate changes to project tasks, goals, scope, and performance expectations.
- Participate in client meetings, contract finalization, and development of project requirements and specifications.
- Coordinate hardware lifecycle projects, including procurement, deployment, refresh, and decommissioning.
- Support capacity planning activities and translate technical requirements into achievable project timelines.
- Coordinate with enterprise technology vendors and review proposals, Statements of Work (SoWs), and licensing agreements.
- Review and manage architecture documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), and solution blueprints.
- Facilitate technology pilots, Proof of Concept (PoC) evaluations, and vendor assessments.
- Collaborate across Data Center Operations, Network Engineering, Security, and business stakeholder teams.
- Ensure projects follow established change management, security, compliance, and governance processes.
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience with a focus on project management.
- Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
- Basic understanding of servers, virtualization, and data center environments.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP concepts.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies and their business value.
- Experience managing hardware lifecycle projects, migrations, and platform consolidations.
- High-level knowledge of SAN, NAS, and object storage concepts.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs, subnets, and storage networking.
- Awareness of backup and disaster recovery planning from a project scope perspective.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
- Understanding of enterprise change management processes.
- Policy-level familiarity with security and compliance frameworks, including Zero Trust and hardening standards.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with technical teams, vendors, clients, business stakeholders, and executives.
- Ability to support executive-level project reporting and status presentatio ns.
Preferred Qualifications- Project management experience within large, global IT organizations.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with Nutanix AHV.
- Experience working with enterprise technology vendors such as HPE, Dell, Nutanix, NetApp, and Pure Storage.
