Job Summary:
Seeking an Enterprise AI Architect to help establish and advance an enterprise AI capability using a vendor-agnostic, capability-based reference architecture. The role focuses on solution architecture, AI platform design, enterprise integration, identity and security, vendor evaluation, and production AI use cases. The ideal candidate will combine strong architecture expertise with hands-on coding and prototyping experience and will collaborate closely with engineering, security, technology, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own solution architecture for AI builds and vendor proofs-of-concept, including integration topology, identity and authorization flows, data flows, and security considerations.
• Prototype and validate architectural designs through reference implementations and technical spikes.
• Partner with engineering teams throughout solution development and implementation.
• Maintain a capability occupancy map to assess proposed tools and solutions against enterprise architecture capabilities.
• Architect Azure AI foundations and governed MCP gateway capabilities, including landing zones, networking, identity patterns, private connectivity, and model portfolio considerations.
• Lead technical evaluations of vendors and AI models and provide recommendations.
• Develop reusable solution patterns to accelerate future AI use cases.
• Support enterprise identity integration, including SAP identity passthrough through Microsoft Entra ID.
• Lead technical architecture reviews and security assessments for AI solutions.
• Deliver solution architecture for production AI use cases and support implementation through deployment.
• Establish architecture practices that support scalable enterprise AI adoption.
Required Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in software or solution architecture, including 5+ years of enterprise integration experience within large organizations.
• Current hands-on coding proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, service principals, and identity passthrough or delegated authorization patterns across system boundaries.
• Experience integrating with SAP landscapes, including interface patterns, middleware, and authorization concepts.
• Hands-on experience designing production LLM systems, including retrieval architectures, agentic workflows, tool-use protocols such as Model Context Protocol, and model routing.
• Strong Azure expertise, including landing zones, hub-and-spoke networking, private endpoints, and Azure AI services.
• Experience leading security and compliance reviews for regulated enterprise data.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering systems that operate in production environments.
• Strong technical writing skills, including architecture decision records and decision memos.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot in daily engineering and architecture workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in manufacturing, chemicals, or other regulated industrial sectors.
• Experience with capability-based or domain-driven enterprise architecture practices.
• Architecture experience with enterprise integration and automation platforms.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certification.
• Experience working alongside consulting or system integration-led transformation programs.
