Responsibilities
LMI is seeking a skilled IT Hardware Engineer to support the procurement, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management of desktop, laptop, server, and peripheral hardware across a network of technical communications facilities. This individual will work closely with the Systems Engineer/Endpoint Lead and site teams to ensure hardware readiness, compliance, and reliability across program locations, including classified and SAP environments.
Primary duties include:
- Procure, configure, image, and deploy desktops, laptops, servers, and peripheral hardwarein accordance withestablished standards.
- Perform hardware installation, upgrades, break/fix repair, and preventive maintenance across facility locations.
- Maintainaccuratehardware inventory, asset tags, and lifecycle/refresh documentation.
- Support rack and stack, cabling, and physical installation of hardware in data center, SCIF, and SAP facility environments.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware-related incidents, escalating complex systems issues to the Systems Engineer/Endpoint Lead as needed.
- Coordinate with facility security officers (FSOs) to ensure hardware handling, transport, and disposalcomply withclassified and SAP environment requirements.
- Support hardware configuration and integration for cross-domain solutions (CDS), ensuring equipment meets physical and logical security requirements for approved cross-domain transfercapabilitySupportVTC endpoint hardware setup and peripheral integration for classified and unclassified conference rooms across all sites, including multi-tier AV configurations.
- Assistwith hardware compliance documentation to support RMF/NIST SP 800-37/800-53 authorization activities.
- Support deployment and integration of IT service management (ITSM) toolsets, including ticketing and asset management platforms, as part of the enterprise NOC/SOC operationsmodel.Location:This position is based in the Washington, DC metro area, with travel to program locations.
Travel: This position requiresapproximately 25-50% travel to support activities across multiple program locations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of IT hardware engineering, deployment, or field support experience.
- Experience supporting classified or federal systems environments.
- Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) facilities, systems,orenvironments.
- Hands-on experience with desktop/laptop imaging, hardware break/fix, and asset lifecycle management.
- Ability to lift/move IT equipment and perform physical installation tasks as needed.
- Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800-37/800-53 security authorization processes as they apply to classified hardware environments.
- Familiarity with ICD 705 physical security standards as they apply to SCIF and SAP facility hardware requirements, including greenfield buildoutenvironments.Niceto Have:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Dell/HP hardware certifications).
- Experience with endpoint management and imaging platforms (e.g., SCCM, MECM).
- ITIL Foundationcertification ordemonstratedfamiliarity with ITSM frameworks, including experience with enterprise ticketing and asset management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy)..
TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility isrequiredfor thisposition. Target salary range: $92,000 - $158,000
