This role establishes and operates the FinOps function, driving cost visibility, optimization, and financial discipline in partnership with infrastructure engineering, application development, and finance. Reports to the Vice President, Information Technology.
The FinOps Analyst is a hands-on practitioner who operates cloud cost management tooling (Vantage), pulls and analyzes cost and budget data ahead of monthly Finance reviews, and partners with engineering leaders to explain spend and identify savings. - Identifies cost optimization opportunities across cloud workloads and drives them to outcome with engineering teams.
- Drives commitment-based pricing strategies including reserved instances, savings plans, and enterprise discount programs.
- Produces monthly and quarterly cloud cost reporting for IT leadership and finance partners.

- Identifies shadow IT and enforces SaaS purchasing and governance policies.
Budget & FP&A Partnership: 25% - Pulls and analyzes technology cost and budget data ahead of monthly Finance and FP&A reviews.
- Meets with FP&A in advance of the monthly budget review to reconcile numbers, investigate variances, and identify open items.
- Partners with IT leaders to identify the drivers behind variances and spend changes ahead of each review.
- Prepares the pre-read and issue list so leadership enters both the org-level Finance review and the IT budget review informed on variances, risks, and go-forward items.
- Attends the IT budget review; captures go-forward action items and tracks them to resolution.
- Supports business case development and cost modeling for technology investments.
FinOps Practice Development: 15% - Establishes the FinOps operating model including allocation taxonomy, tagging standards, and governance forums.
- Develops FinOps capability and cost accountability across the technology organization.
- Drives anomaly detection and cost-spike investigation across cloud and SaaS.
- Drives adoption of FinOps best practices including the FinOps Foundation framework
