Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
• Business Systems Alignment: Analyze business requirements and ensure ERP/CMS, EDI, reporting, and data collection systems support current and future business processes.
• Industry 4.0 / IoT Enablement: Develop, recommend, and support standard concepts for connecting PLCs, equipment, SCADA, OPC/Kepware, MQTT, SQL, Power BI, and other systems into Kamtek's IoT architecture.
• Application and Report Development: Develop or supervise development of applications, reports, dashboards, integrations, and custom functions that support ERP/CMS, shop-floor, inventory, production, quality, and label-printing needs.
• ERP/CMS and EDI Support: Provide functional and technical support for ERP/CMS modules, EDI mappings, vendor/customer connections, data interfaces, reporting, and related external applications.
• Data Governance and Accuracy: Validate shop-floor, production, inventory, and quality data with business owners and Controls resources to ensure reporting accuracy and traceability.
• Documentation and Training: Maintain process documentation, technical specifications, security documentation, data-flow diagrams, training materials, and support knowledge articles.
• Compliance and Change Control: Follow approved change-management processes and support cybersecurity, TISAX, SOX, IT security, license, backup, and access-control requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Facilitate improvement projects, identify process waste, develop KPIs, and recommend technology solutions that improve system utilization and return on investment.
Essential Functions of the Position
• Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.
• Understand and promote Magna's philosophies, including Magna Operational Principles, Corporate Constitution, and Employee's Charter.
• Design, document, implement, and support Industry 4.0 solutions using SCADA systems such as Ignition, SQL databases, Power BI, OPC/Kepware, MQTT, and approved application platforms.
• Support ERP/CMS configuration, reporting, data integration, implementation, testing, and process improvement activities across departments.
• Create, maintain, test, and troubleshoot EDI maps, vendor/customer connections, scheduled EDI jobs, and ANSI X12 or EDIFACT transaction processes as applicable.
• Develop reports, dashboards, KPIs, metrics, monitoring tools, and data models to support production, quality, inventory, maintenance, and management decision-making.
• Work with Controls Engineering and plant resources to verify the accuracy of shop-floor data collected from PLCs, equipment, SCADA, MES-like systems, and other data sources.
• Support custom shop-floor applications, label printing applications, inventory reporting applications, production reporting applications, and related integrations.
• Design, configure, and maintain label printing processes, including Zebra printer logic, Zebra Programming Language requirements, print templates, and data-driven label output.
• Develop new techniques to connect legacy equipment to modern infrastructure while maintaining safe, supportable, and secure integration practices.
• Create detailed specifications for proposed solutions, including required materials, external services, internal resources, risk considerations, and support requirements.
• Assist with IBM i / AS400 / iSeries integration activities, client-access tools, DB2 data access, and related ERP/CMS interfaces where assigned.
• Load, test, and validate operating system, application, and software changes in test, stage, and production environments according to approved change-control processes.
• Ensure policies, procedures, diagrams, application inventories, interface inventories, and technical documentation remain current and accessible.
• Support software license, certification, and subscription renewal tracking to prevent business interruption.
• Ensure systems and applications are backed up or recoverable according to applicable service-level expectations and escalation procedures.
• Act as first level support for ERP security administration and EDI activities, escalating advanced issues as needed.
• Manage code deployments, fixes, updates, acceptance testing, release notes, and related support processes.
• Actively troubleshoot issues that arise during testing and production and coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and outside consultants as required.
• Act with honesty and integrity and make ethical business choices in accordance with Magna's Compliance policies and procedures.
• Promote good housekeeping and 5S practices.
• Perform other duties as required.
Position Requirements
Skills / Ability to Do the Job
• Good interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Strong understanding of business processes from beginning to end and ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience configuring, supporting, or upgrading ERP/CMS systems and related business applications.
• Ability to write code, scripts, queries, or automation to retrieve, manipulate, store, integrate, validate, and report data.
• Demonstrated knowledge of EDI concepts, mappings, testing, trading-partner communication, and transaction troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of PLC/equipment data concepts and familiarity with Siemens, Rockwell, or similar controller environments preferred.
• Understanding of programming languages or scripting tools such as SQL, Python, C#, JavaScript, Java, C++, PowerShell, or related technologies.
• Experience with relational databases, DB2, SQL Server, data storage, data modeling, and reporting tools.
• Experience with MQTT, OPC, Kepware, SCADA/Ignition, and data collection systems preferred.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches.
• Time and project management skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, document status, and communicate risks.
• Basic statistical analysis and KPI development skills.

Some physical demands for this position include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and sit for prolonged periods of time, and perform occasional stooping, bending, walking on the plant floor, accessing equipment areas, and supporting equipment or workstation installations as needed.

Knowledge
Education High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
Technical Training Kepware/OPC integration, SQL, SCADA, Ignition, CMS/ERP integration, IBM i / iSeries / AS400, DB2, EDI, Power BI, Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, data analytics, cybersecurity awareness, and change-management practices.
Work Experience SQL queries, data analytics, project management, ERP/CMS implementation, EDI support, reporting, system integration, shop-floor application support, label printing, and business process improvement.

Minimum Experience Minimum of 3 years related experience preferred, including ERP/CMS, EDI, SQL querying, reporting, or data analytics experience.
