Summary

You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION) in the SOFTWARE MANAGEMENT BRANCH (N642), SYSTEMS INTEGRATION SERVICES DIVISION (N64), INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT SERVICES (N6) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

Duties

Help

  • You will perform as a senior-level IT Specialist to architect, manage, and sustain the various network and software environments that support integration, verification, and operations for the production capabilities.
  • You will evaluate enterprise system configurations, structures, settings, and ensure modifications are in accordance with information assurance (IA) technical controls.
  • You will develop and document solutions or Courses of Action (COAs) for issues or requirements.
  • You will create schedules, including Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA/M), using technical expertise.
  • You will apply principles of software process improvement and adhere to organizational procedures for software administration activities.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience in system/software administration tasks (IE installing, patching, configuring, integrating, testing and monitoring) of relational database management systems (RDBMS) on Linux or Windows operating systems. Experience maintaining cybersecurity compliance strategies for information assurance vulnerabilities (IAVs), and monitoring systems to ensure operation availability. Experience with Linux system administration and ability to operate in a Linux command line mode. Experience analyzing and resolving operational issues related to software and systems. Experience working with IT personnel to resolve issues related to design, implementation and operations.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Collaborate with technical experts to negotiate, develop, and/or coordinate technical changes and impacts to other efforts/capabilities

3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of personnel including team members, management, sponsors, and stakeholders.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Apply principles of software process improvement and adhere to organizational procedures for software administration activities.
