Investment Banking Analyst | FIG (Banks & Depositories)

Group Overview

The Banks & Depositories team is a sub-vertical within Jefferies' broader Financial Institutions Group (FIG) coverage team in New York. The team advises banks, thrifts, specialty depository institutions, mortgage and bank fintech companies and other financial services companies on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, balance sheet strategy, and other corporate finance matters.

About the Role

The Investment Banking Analyst will support the origination and execution of advisory and capital markets transactions. The Analyst will conduct financial analysis, prepare client materials, perform industry research, and assist with transaction execution.

Responsibilities
  • Build merger, accretion and dilution, valuation, and regulatory capital analyses.
  • Analyze metrics including tangible book value, net interest margin, deposit costs, credit quality, liquidity, and capital ratios.
  • Prepare pitch books, board materials, management presentations, and other client deliverables.
  • Conduct company, industry, market, and transaction research.
  • Support due diligence, data room management, and transaction coordination.
  • Collaborate with senior bankers and product partners across M&A and capital markets.
  • Manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and approximately one to three years of relevant experience.
  • Prior investment banking or financial institutions experience preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling, accounting, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with bank financial statements, regulatory capital, and financial institutions valuation preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Series 79 and Series 63 licenses preferred or obtained after joining.


Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000
