What We Are Looking For

As an Intermediate Development Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and quality assurance of cutting-edge additively manufactured products for aerospace, industrial, and semiconductor applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams on both new product development programs and contract manufacturing engagements, owning customer-facing quality interactions while driving programs to completion through disciplined project management and structured problem solving. The role reports to the Development Quality Engineering Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise, customer engagement, and program ownership to drive quality excellence in highly innovative and regulated environments.

Hybrid Schedule

This role has a hybrid work schedule requiring the person to be onsite 3 days a week.

What You Will Do

  • Own quality deliverables across the program life cycle, planning quality activities against program milestones, tracking commitments, and managing schedule, risk, and stakeholder communication to keep programs on track.
  • Serve as the primary quality point of contact for customer-facing interactions, including customer quality agreements, change control, first article inspection, and audits.
  • Develop, execute, and oversee risk management activities, including process and design risk assessments (PFMEA/DFMEA), hazard analyses, and risk mitigation strategies in compliance with applicable industry regulations and standards.
  • Apply a structured, disciplined problem-solving methodology to investigate non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Provide input and review and approve product and process validation activities.
  • Lead and participate in design and process risk analysis and file creation
  • Identify and develop test methods, inspection plans, and quality control procedures.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, supply chain) to resolve quality issues, holding owners and timelines accountable through to closure.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality standards, such as AS9100 (aerospace), ISO 9001, ITAR, and other relevant standards for regulated and high-reliability manufacturing.
  • Provide guidance and support to design and engineering teams to address quality concerns and improve product design and manufacturability.
  • Assist in supplier quality management and supplier audits to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
  • Maintain accurate quality documentation, including design history files, risk management files, and test records.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and regulatory updates to stay current with best practices and compliance.


Qualifications

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical, aerospace, materials, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in quality engineering or a closely related role involving significant quality engineering responsibilities; experience in a regulated or high-reliability industry (aerospace, industrial, or semiconductor) preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and drive cross-functional programs to completion on schedule.
  • Demonstrated use of a structured problem-solving methodology and root cause analysis in a manufacturing environment.
  • Quality certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) desirable.
  • Knowledge of quality management system standards such as AS9100 (Aerospace Quality Management Systems) and ISO 9001, and familiarity with high-reliability or semiconductor quality expectations.
  • Strong understanding of quality tools and methodologies, including FMEA, CAPA, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with product and process validation, design control, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with APQP/PPAP or equivalent structured product launch processes a plus.
  • Applied experience with and understanding of additive manufacturing a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external customers.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • This position serves the Quality Engineering Group, which includes the need to work on export controlled products from aerospace and defense customers.
