How Will You Make an Impact?As a
Quality Engineer II at our
Grand Junction, CO facility, you will research design factors such as ease of inspection and availability of materials and equipment, and evaluate and ensure product conformity by developing data, and make preliminary, in-process, and final decisions. You will create and modify First Article Inspection (FAI) reports. You will also create, modify, evaluate, and document programs for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other equipment used in the inspection of machined and printed parts.
Location: On-site at our Grand Junction, CO facility
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMWhat Will You Do?- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Design, develop, and update CMM programs.
- Develop processes to meet customer requirements using CAD layouts, drawings, BOMs, and budgets.
- Create layouts for medium-to-complex assemblies, devices, mechanisms, and structures.
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers, customers, and coworkers.
- Assess material, tooling, automation, and equipment needs.
- Troubleshoot upgrades, retrofits, set-ups, methods development, and inspection parameters.
- Investigate product nonconformances and determine root cause and corrective actions.
- Perform and assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Conduct risk assessments using FMEAs, cause-and-effect analysis, and decision trees.
- Recommend inspection, manufacturing, or assembly process improvements.
- Support quoting and technical review activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using lean techniques.
- Assist in developing SOPs, operations manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Provide quality oversight for material qualification and process validation.
- Research new technologies and development tools.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to engineering projects.
- Support company safety and quality programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
How Will You Get Here?Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Understanding of CNC machining, manufacturing processes, and inspection techniques.
- Basic knowledge of engineering theories, design principles, and design evaluation methods.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of process validation and equipment qualifications.
- Basic understanding of metallic material testing techniques.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software.
- Proficiency with MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Familiar with SPC and sampling control charts
Education & Experience- Associate's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering with relative experience, required.
- Bachelor's degree, preferred.
- 3-5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

The pay range for this role is $65,500 - $117,900. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
