Overview

The Product Analyst is a member of the Agile Team responsible for defining Stories and prioritizing the Sprint Backlog for Customer Experience Digital solutions to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the Features or components for the team.

The Product Analyst plays a dynamic role responsible for supporting the Product Manager and/or the Product Owner both in product analysis as well as backlog execution. The Product Analyst will be aligned with the Product Manager and / or Product Owner in execution of the product vision and roadmap, and how it translates into user stories. In the analysis realm, the Product Analyst works with various SME's to determine business processes and logic, impact assessment, feature breakdown and prioritization.

The Intermediate level uses established procedures under moderate guidance and direction from Product Manager or more senior level Product Analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, refines, and documents requirements in the form of user stories and acceptance criteria for prioritized feature development.
  • Advocates a customer centric mindset through closely partnering with the Design team to pull in relevant data and assisting in synthesis which the team can easily digest.
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for the team on clarification of requirements and drives backlog grooming on recurring basis.
  • Participates in daily scrum with the dev team and scrum master.
  • Supports the product owner and/or product manager in executing and delivering on product roadmap commitments.
  • Assist with system design in partnership with Engineering teams ensuring the design meets the business needs and user experience.
  • Perform necessary backlog maintenance, such as identifying stories and define them for ready for work.
  • Stay in sync with the product owner and/or product manager on priorities and day to day execution.
  • Support the product owner and/or product managers in collaborating with cross functional teams and leadership, to ensure team strategy aligns with overall product vision.
  • Prepare and support the team on product demos for leadership team.
  • Supports release planning for production ready customer features.
  • Facilitates meetings with Business, Design, Dev Team, and other ceremonies as needed for planning and refinement.
  • Supports product testing activities prior to release, assuring what is built what aligns to agreed upon feature acceptance criteria and capabilities.
  • Assists in setting, gathering, and tracking product performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and tech organization on innovative technology initiatives that create business value either through growth opportunities or operational improvements.
  • May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
  • The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree.

Required Experience:
  • 2+ years of related work experience.
  • Excitement, curiosity, and passion for shaping the future through digital technology.
  • Familiarity with the latest technologies, trends, standards, products, and applicability
  • Strong problem solving and analytics skills to be able to develop technology solutions that solve business problems quickly.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external agile teams to unblock critical issues during product development.
  • Knowledge and expertise across multiple spectrums of large-scale business operations, preferably in the Utility Sector.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior work experience as a product analyst, including the full life cycle of deployment of customer experience products to production.
  • Familiar with design thinking and how to leverage that output to shape a product and customer experience.
  • Experience with building and releasing Minimal Viable Product (MVP) and managing on-time releases.
  • Degree in related field to product management, product development, etc. is a plus.
  • Acts as a ruthless "prioritizer" while balancing the needs of customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build collaborative relationships.
  • Excellent communicator both oral and written, with strong documentation skills to articulate business and technical process flows.
  • Experience in energy industry
  • Understanding and operating in a SAFE Agile environment
  • Experience using Azure Dev Ops, Lucid, Miro
