Full Job Description
Overview

ARB Interactive is looking for an Interim Assistant Controller to partner directly with our SVP of Finance on a focused, high-impact six-month engagement, with a genuine path to a permanent seat. This is a remote, U.S.-based, full-time contract role built for a CPA who wants real ownership of close, audit, and treasury from day one, not busywork on the sidelines.
The Ideal Candidate

You're a CPA who cut your teeth at a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm and have led, or co-led, a financial statement audit from the company side, not just the audit firm's side. You're just as comfortable working a reconciliation as you are sitting across from an external auditor. You like being the person who catches what others miss: the reviewer, the second set of eyes, the one who makes sure the numbers are right before they move up the chain. A defined, high-visibility project with a real shot at going permanent sounds exciting to you, not risky, and you're ready to get up to speed fast in a multi-entity environment.
The Role

Close, Reviewed Right
  • Serve as the review checkpoint between our Accounting Manager and the SVP of Finance, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet support, with the authority to send work back for correction.
  • Own preparation of consolidated financial statements with footnote disclosures under U.S. GAAP across our multi-entity structure.

Audit, Led End to End
  • Own the annual audit process: the PBC list, the timeline, and the auditor relationship.
  • Prepare audit-ready workpapers and resolve auditor questions directly. Final sign-off on audit deliverables stays with the SVP of Finance, this role leads the process.

Treasury, Covered
  • Support cash positioning, bank relationships, and intercompany cash movements across entities.
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and debt or covenant tracking.

A Real Seat at the Table
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for executive leadership, including consolidated financials, KPIs, and variance commentary.
  • Act as a thought partner to the SVP of Finance on close process improvements, audit readiness, and treasury-related special projects.
Qualifications

Required
  • Active CPA license.
  • 5+ years of audit experience at a Big 4 or large national or regional public accounting firm, including direct experience leading or co-leading a financial statement audit from the company side.
  • Strong technical U.S. GAAP knowledge, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), consolidations, and financial statement and footnote preparation.
  • Experience with NetSuite, multi-subsidiary experience preferred.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity organization with group or consolidated-level reporting.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred
  • Experience in gaming, sweepstakes, fintech, or another highly regulated, multi-state consumer platform business.
  • Prior treasury exposure, including cash management, banking relationships, and debt or covenant monitoring.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment moving toward more sophisticated internal reporting.
  • Prior remote-first work experience.
