Full Job Description
McKesson is seeking an Integration Engineer - FCS to design, develop, and support enterprise interoperability solutions that enable secure, reliable healthcare data exchange across clinical, operational, and third-party systems. This role combines healthcare interoperability expertise, API engineering, and DevSecOps practices to deliver scalable solutions supporting patient care and business operations.

You'll work closely with architects, application teams, cybersecurity partners, and business stakeholders to modernize healthcare integrations using HL7, FHIR, SMART on FHIR, REST APIs, and InterSystems HealthConnect technologies.

What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and support healthcare integrations using InterSystems HealthConnect, Ensemble, and IRIS.
  • Develop and maintain HL7 v2.x interfaces including ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT, and MDM workflows.
  • Build and support FHIR and SMART on FHIR APIs and REST-based integration services.
  • Design message transformation, orchestration, routing, validation, and exception-handling solutions using JSON and XML.
  • Troubleshoot interface failures, data quality issues, API errors, and system integration challenges.
  • Implement source control and automated deployments using Git, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Monitor integration platforms, APIs, and messaging services to improve reliability, performance, and operational stability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant healthcare technology solutions.


Basic Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience designing, developing, troubleshooting, and supporting healthcare integrations or enterprise integration solutions.
  • Experience with HL7 v2.x healthcare messaging standards.
  • Experience developing or supporting FHIR and REST APIs.
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability and healthcare data exchange solutions.
  • Experience with message transformation, routing, orchestration, and interface design.
  • Experience using Git for source control and CI/CD deployment processes.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting production integration environments.
  • Experience with HIPAA-regulated systems or other regulated industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.


Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Experience with InterSystems HealthConnect.
  • Experience implementing FHIR integrations.
  • Knowledge of OAuth, authentication, authorization, and API security standards.
  • Experience with JSON, XML, SQL, ODBC, and JDBC technologies.
  • Experience in oncology, provider, payer, or broader healthcare environments.
  • Experience supporting high-availability integration platforms and incident management processes.
  • Experience driving automation, observability, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Location, Travel & Physical Requirements
  • Remote or hybrid work arrangement based on business needs.
  • Limited travel may be required for team meetings, project implementations, or stakeholder engagements.
