Full Job Description
The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician will be based at Phillips 66 Midstream office in Del Valle, TX (outside of Austin, TX). The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician will work independently and with other operations personnel to safely maintain and operate pipeline equipment and processes throughout the geographic area of operation. The position will calibrate and inspect measurement equipment, conduct routine pipeline maintenance, eliminate, and report product leaks, seeps, and spills, as well as assist with construction, maintenance and mechanical integrity projects on the pipeline. The position will maintain qualifications and record documentation in accordance with all applicable DOT and OSHA regulations to ensure compliance. *This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment.* If you meet the required qualifications of the position, a link to complete the assessment will be emailed to you immediately after your completed application is received. What You'll Do: - Performing and providing technical support for maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment installation. - Performing planned maintenance checks and calibrations, and timely submission of supporting documentation. - Work within budget requirements. - Maintaining effective spare parts inventory. - Seek new technologies to improve safety and reliability. - Assisting in pump tear down/rebuild inspections and new pump installations. - Minimizing downtime and unsafe conditions by performing preventative maintenance. - Maintaining skills by attending training sessions and on-the-job training. - Maintaining technical and administrative records, including prints and project reports. - Responding to emergencies and participate in emergency response efforts. - Supervising, directing, and training contract crews participating in maintenance and new construction. - Read and understanding P&ID's - Understanding the methods of pipeline measurement, meter proving and documentation. - Filter and strainer changeouts and other pipeline maintenance. - Interfacing with other internal, external, and third-party industry related contacts/resources - Responding promptly and effectively to customer needs - Maintain emergency response equipment. - Completing mandated safety and regulatory training - Maintaining effective and professional relationships with pipeline customers, peers, and vendors - Performing environmental, company, and regulatory tasks as necessary What You'll Bring - Required: - Legally authorized to work in the job posting country. - High School Diploma or GED equivalent - Must maintain a valid driver's license. - Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, analyzers, control valves, transmitters, motor controls, and industrial communication systems. - Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, loop calibrators, HART communicators, or similar diagnostic tools. - Knowledge of NFPA 70E, electrical safe-work practices, hazardous-area equipment, and process-safety requirements. - Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodations: - Climb up vertical and A-frame ladders - Lift minimum of 50lbs - Push and pull forces up to 100lbs - Operate a forklift - Tow pipeline trailers and equipment - Respond to emergency calls and remain on-call as needed - Work extended hours on an as-needed basis - Bend, kneel, knee stand, and squat according to job demands - Sit and stand for prolonged periods according to job demands. - Work in enclosed spaces - Work with chemicals and bases - Wear personal protective equipment - Wear respirator / face mask can seal properly - Work outside in harsh weather conditions - Work with hydrocarbons that are under high pressure and heat - Work in 3rd party facilities and state properties - Live/relocate within 45 minutes of Del Valle/Austin Office What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred: - Associate degree in electrical maintenance, instrumentation or industrial electronics - 4 or more years of relevant Industry experience (Midstream, pipelines or terminals) or military experience - 4 or more years of experience working with electrical power and components, digital and analog circuity, or OMNI flow computer. - Experience in pipeline, terminal, pump-station, gas-processing, or other Midstream operating environments. - OQ qualification or experience working within an operator-qualification program. - Experience with SAP or another computerized maintenance-management system - Possess or can qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) - information at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic Compensation Range This position has a base salary range of $75,500 - $132,440. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities.
