Substation Senior Structural EngineerWe are seeking a
Substation Senior Structural Engineer with a B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering and 5+ years of structural design engineering and review experience. Experience within the electric utility industry - either working directly for a utility or an engineering consultancy - is strongly preferred. The candidate must have a strong educational background in design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations. Experience performing and reviewing substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, concrete and masonry control shelters, and firewalls is preferred. This position will consist of performing design reviews of the aforementioned civil/structural design components in support of the development of bid/construction packages for substation projects. Candidate will primarily function as a senior engineer leading projects, performing design reviews, as well as developing junior staff members. Experience with design and review for structures and foundations to industry codes and standards under seismic loading conditions is preferred. Site-visits to client substation facilities are expected to be part of the work, along with occasional travel for client meetings and industry-related events.
Candidate must comply with quality control and safe work practices and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule and budget expectations. This position will be a senior member of a design team comprised of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or Masters (MS) with 3+ years of relevant experience
- PE License Preferred in California, Washington, Oregon OR the ability to obtain licensure in these states within 3-12 months.
- Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software, required
- Experience with RISA 3D or/and STAAD.Pro, SAG10, FAD or/and LPile software, required
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills
- Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff
Location: Remote, ideally candidate would reside in CA, WA, or OR.

Pay Range:Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
