Insight Global's client in the Energy Utilities Industry is searching for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to report to one of their Power Plants in the Mulberry area. The Controls Engineer will support major generation projects focused on improving fuel efficiency, emissions compliance, and dual-fuel reliability. Responsibilities include working with Emerson Ovation and ABB DCS systems, combustion and steam turbine controls, PLCs, and instrumentation. This mid-level role involves both detailed design and field engineering phases, collaborating with engineering firms and construction teams. The engineer will review technical designs, lead factory testing, support procurement, and ensure adherence to industry standards. Field duties include overseeing construction quality, coordinating commissioning activities, and supporting operations with spare parts and maintenance planning. Travel to engineering firm offices and project sites is expected.

Required Skills & ExperienceLevel 3
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience contributing to the design and development of power generation facilities, particularly on large-scale, cross-functional engineering efforts.
Level 4
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university.
- A minimum of 8 years working directly on engineering design for power plants, with a focus on complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Holds a Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
Nice to Have Skills & ExperienceLevel 3
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited program.
- 12+ years of experience in engineering design for power generation systems, with a strong track record on large, integrated projects.
- Possesses either an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
Level 4
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from a certified academic institution.
- At least 12 years of direct involvement in power plant design engineering, especially on projects requiring coordination across multiple disciplines.
