Job Description:

Job Purpose

Accountable for leading second-shift (4:00pm - 3:00am) inspection personnel at the Broken Arrow Plant. This role supports the manufacture of turbomachinery and related components by ensuring inspection activities meet established production, quality, and schedule requirements.

Nature and Scope

- Reports to the Unit Quality Manager and works closely with production and production control supervisors.

- Leads hourly inspection personnel and supports plant initiatives, including 5S, Lean manufacturing, and continuous process improvement.

- Directs and coordinates the work of approximately 20 hourly employees to ensure production, engineering, and quality requirements are achieved within targets for cost, schedule, efficiency, and utilization.

- Operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring execution of established plans to improve quality, meet production schedules, and increase part throughput.

- Monitors daily performance and adjusts priorities in coordination with unit management and engineering to address changing production needs.

- Provides leadership and coaching to employees, driving accountability, engagement, and adherence to standards.

- Ensures compliance with company policies, and facility procedures while reinforcing a positive and disciplined work culture.

Daily challenges include managing workforce issues, resolving inspection bottlenecks, responding to equipment downtime, and adapting to short lead-time schedule changes. Performance in this role directly impacts unit-level goals for efficiency, utilization, cost control, and product quality.

Inspection responsibilities include:
  • In-process and bench inspection
  • Final inspection
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection
  • Material Review Board (MRB) throughput management


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure inspection operations support production schedules and manufacturing plans
  • Supervise and coordinate hourly personnel to maximize thruput
  • Maintain and enforce quality, safety, and operational standards
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and 5S activities
  • Monitor workflow, identify constraints, and implement corrective actions to prevent delays or defects
  • Train, coach, and develop employees to build a skilled and motivated workforce
  • Resolve personnel and operational issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Enforce company policies, and procedures.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree or 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing/machine shop environment
  • Experience supervising hourly employees, preferably in a manufacturing or inspection environment
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and motivate teams in a production setting
  • Available to work 2nd shift (4:00pm - 3:00am)


The target Salary range for this role is $77,264 - $96,580. With an overall salary range of $77,264 - $115,896

Summary Pay Range:

$77,264.00 - $115,896.00
