Full Job Description
The Initiative Manager position offers a unique opportunity to be based at either our Irvine, California world headquarters or our Buffalo, New York sales headquarters. We are looking for a strategic leader who is passionate about shaping meaningful change within a global business environment. If you excel at tackling complex challenges and enjoy collaborating with senior executives to drive impactful results, this role could be an ideal fit.

At Ingram Micro, the Initiative Manager for Global Platform Business - Strategic Initiatives will spearhead executive-level transformations that will redefine not only our business but also our partnerships and the broader industry. This is far more than a traditional project management role; it's a chance to be a driving force behind digital transformation, stimulate platform growth, and unlock new avenues for innovation and operational excellence.

You will partner closely with both corporate and regional leaders to implement strategies in two pivotal areas. First, through Capability R&D, you will identify and develop future platform capabilities by exploring and testing new opportunities. Second, by leveraging existing platform capabilities, you will help maximize strategic value with partners, expand our market share, and facilitate entry into new markets.

Success in this role relies on your ability to navigate complex organizational structures, champion progress, and achieve measurable results. It requires a refined combination of project management discipline, strategic vision, and interpersonal agility.

Your role:

  • Proactively developing persuasive business cases for value creation and crafting innovative strategies to advance the business.
  • Leading transformative projects from initial conception to execution, including cross-functional pilots designed to test and validate new value drivers and efficiency gains.
  • Monitoring and reporting on global platform performance, ensuring key performance indicators are achieved and consistently improved.
  • Providing executive-level updates and consultation to maintain organizational alignment and informed decision-making across the company.

What you bring to the role:

  • A four-year college degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 8 + years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years spent managing strategic projects. PMI and Agile Project Management certifications are highly valued.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading business transformations and advising executives to deliver substantial outcomes.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, enabling you to work effectively with diverse stakeholders to accelerate progress and positively impact business performance.
  • Key competencies such as strategic insight, innovative thinking, and a results-driven mindset are essential. Strong communication, conflict resolution, and change management abilities are also required.
  • This role will involve international travel, up to 10%.
