Full Job Description

Required Clearance: Active Top Secret

Support the Naval Research Laboratory Optical Sciences Division. The focus of the Optical Sciences Division is on advancing technologies related to optics, including the development of new materials and systems for various applications to enhance capabilities for the US Navy and Marine Corps.

Provide subject matter expertise in the area of infrared sensors, infrared countermeasures, algorithm development, and signal/image processing. the successful candidate will assist and advise a group of researchers on how best to focus projects in order to fill technology gaps and address new/emerging threats.

Knowledge of current state-of-the-art in terms of key suppliers, technology capabilities/limitations, potential research sponsors within the War Department are key. The position also requires strong communication and strategic planning skills to assist in developing realistic approaches in response to sponsor needs.

Salary:
The projected salary range for this position is $270,000; however, this is not a guarantee of salary.Salary will be set based on experience and contractual requirements.
