Security & Cyber Operations (557 SWES)
Lead the integrated security and cyber operations shielding the 557th Software Engineering Squadron (557 SWES) and the warfighters they support. In this critical, dual-threat leadership role, you will command full-spectrum military security programs (Personel Security (PERSEC), Physical Security (PHYSEC), Industrial Security (INDSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Operational Security (OPSEC), and Antiterrorism (AT)) while directing advanced cyber services-including cloud infrastructure, software assurance, and secure software development enclaves.
What you will accomplish:
- Command a Dual Mission: Bridge the gap between physical defense and digital warfare, leading a section that simultaneously enforces military security and drives high-tech cyber operations.
- Shield the Software Pipeline: Build, secure, and manage the specialized development enclaves and cloud environments used by elite software engineers to deploy tactical code to the front lines.
- Strategic Enterprise Influence: Deliver critical, multi-disciplinary engineering, financial, and program management support to System Program Offices (SPOs) and the squadron to ensure total mission success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-Spectrum Security Management: Administer, execute, and monitor all organizational security programs, including Personnel (PERSEC), Physical (PHYSEC), Industrial (INDSEC), Information (INFOSEC), Operations (OPSEC), and Antiterrorism (AT).
- Cyber Operations & Enclave Defense: Manage cyber operations services, including Information Assurance (IA), Software Assurance, Network Administration, Cloud Services, and secure software development enclaves.
- Specialized Engineering Support: Deliver technical, IT, financial, acquisition, and configuration management services to SPOs and the 557 SWES to fulfill overarching mission objectives.
- System Integrity & IT Support: Direct general IT support and system administration to ensure zero downtime across development, testing, and operational environments.

- A seasoned security and cyber professional with a proven track record of managing integrated defense networks, cloud services, and security programs.
- A vigilant defender deeply familiar with DoD security regulations, Information Assurance controls, and risk management frameworks.
- A multidisciplinary leader capable of coordinating technical, financial, and acquisition strategies across squadron leadership, program offices, and joint military stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- May occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- May require work to be performed during hours outside the normal duty schedule
- Obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance.
- Designated Drug Testing Position
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Cyberspace qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk)
2. Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities
3. Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles used to manage risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information or data
4. Knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies
5. Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements
6. Knowledge of system life cycle management principles, including software security and usability
7. Skill in creating policies that reflect system security objectives
8. Skill in assessing security controls based on Cybersecurity principles and tenets. (e.g., CIS CSC, NIST SP 800-53, Cybersecurity Framework, etc.)
9. Ability to integrate information security requirements into the acquisition process; using applicable baseline security controls as one of the sources for security requirements; ensuring a robust software quality control process; and establishing multiple sources (e.g., delivery routes, for critical system elements)
10. Ability to identify critical infrastructure systems with information communication technology that were designed without system security considerations
