The role of Information System Security Engineer (ISSE)* is responsible for conducting information systems security engineer activities throughout the lifecycle.
Position OverviewLV8D Solutions is seeking an ISSE to capture and refine information protection requirements to ensure their integration into information systems acquisitions and information system development through purposeful security design or configuration.
Interested candidates must be knowledgeable of best practices when implementing security controls including software engineering methodologies, security engineering methodologies, security engineering principles, and secure coding techniques and coordinate activities with Assessment and Authorization (A&A) stakeholders. Additionally, interested candidates need to thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment; are highly motivated and not afraid to take on uncharted territory; possess strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills; and be able to prioritize their time to be effective in a dynamic environment.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities- Responsible for conducting Information System (IS) security engineering activities throughout the system development/acquisition lifecycles.
- Responsible for capturing and refining information protection requirements to ensure their integration into IS acquisitions and IS development through purposeful security design or configuration.
- Integrates security functional requirements into existing acquisition lifecycle phases, milestones, and deliverables using systems engineering principles and methodologies.
- Coordinates activities with A & A stake-holders and shall be knowledgeable of Analytics/Metrics tools to identify trends and patterns across the Enterprise.
Required Qualifications- Knowledge of and experience with ICD 503 and the Government's certification and accreditation process
- Proficient with networks, computer components, system protocols, and COTs technology
- Knowledge of system methodologies including: client/server, web hosting, web content servers, policy servers, directory servers, firewalls, WAN, MAN, LAN, switches, and routers
- Expertise in software integration of COTS and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) products
- Education relevant to computer engineering, information security, information management, and/or computer science
- Experience in technical project management
- Technical experience in configuring and supporting, at minimum, Windows, Linux, Unix, Mac OS
- Technical experience in configuring and supporting, at minimum, VMware, Xen, Hyper V
- Technical experience in software engineering, program design and implementation, configuration management, system maintenance, integration testing, and information system engineering
- High school's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
CertificationMust have one of the following IAT Level III Certification:
Security Requirements- U.S. Citizenship
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance
- Active Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope (FS) Polygraph
Work Environment- On-site work in a government or contractor facility
- Occasional travel (up to 10%)
