Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, VFDs, electrical instrumentation and sensors, lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables;
Repairs and replaces electric and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, switches or sensors, PLC’s, light curtains, motor controls, VFDs, etc;
Installs, examines, replace or repair electric wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components;
Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment as outlined in the individual work instructions;
Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers and VFD’s on packaging and processing machinery;
Test for malfunctions, verify repairs and document of all programming changes;
Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health,safety and environmental rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment;
Be willing to upgrade skills to deal with new technology, including the use of acomputerized maintenance management system (CMMS);
Work with operators and other trades as required to achieve satisfactory results;
Support the development of autonomous, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs.
A current Province of Ontario Industrial Electrician License;
3 years of maintenanceexperience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical industry (asset);
Experience in troubleshooting with Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC and FactoryTalk View HMI and SCADA system;
Must have a thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code;
Experience with industrial electrical power systems, industrial control systems, PLC’s, motors, VFD’s, and industrial communication systems;
Able to create simple drawings, ladder diagrams and single circuit diagrams;
Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, MP2 database system) (asset);
Work independently or in team with little to no supervision;
Good written and verbal communication skills in English;
Must also be familiar with WHMIS, GMP’s and good health and safety work practices.
