Job Description
The Independent Agent Field Sales Director is responsible for profitable growth and increased market share within the Midwest region, specifically IL, OH, and IN. The role is accountable for all aspects of strategy development for home, auto, and commercial sales within the Midwest. The role leads a consolidated team of sales leaders and network of agents with the goal of achieving sales and profitability targets while fostering a culture of embracing change, talent development and shared purpose.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serves as a role model within the Independent Agent sales organization, encouraging root cause problem solving, best practice sharing and continuous improvement
  • Leads all talent-related efforts to strengthen talent pipeline, including encouraging professional development, monitoring succession for key roles and ensuring accountability to high performance against zone and company objectives
  • Monitors, evaluates and adapts sales organizational structure to maximize employee and agent resources in current and future M&A activity, including role segmentation, incentive compensation and critical skill development
  • Communicates operational goals and measures aligned to business strategy to direct reports and employees
  • Proactively analyzes data and analytics to evaluate business strategies against current results, adapts to changing market pressures and redeploys resources during current and future M&A activity
  • Creates and implements change management initiatives for the integration of sales strategies for multiple brands, products and agency workforces for current and future M&A activity
  • Collaborates with leadership in Product, Marketing, Finance and other AORs to identify opportunities to maximize resources and employee skills to achieve sales plan
  • Serves as a senior member of the Household, Specialty Vehicle, and Flood sales leadership team, collaborating with other sales directors toward the achievement of the national sales plan and refinement of region-specific sales strategies
  • Facilitates review and consolidation of sales strategies, operating models and workforces for current and future mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity
  • Develops and implements the annual strategic business plan for the assigned region to achieve the Household, Specialty Vehicle, and Flood sales production, retention, appointment and profitability goals

  • Relationship Management: Develops long-term, value-driven relationships by understanding stakeholder needs, aligning priorities, and fostering open communication. Establishes credibility and rapport quickly, creating collaborative partnerships that drive mutual success.

Education & Experience
  • 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
  • 12+ years of progressive sales experience. Home, auto, and commercial vehicle expertise strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Independent Agent operating models, agency operations, and agency economics required.
  • Proven track record for driving results through the development of effective relationships with Sales, Operations, Product Operations, Finance, Marketing and across other business units.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is 136,800.00 - 188,100.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
