Full Job Description
Flight Test Engineer position located at Hill Air Force Base (HAFB), as part of the ICBM Combined Test Force (CTF), under the 804th Test Group affiliated with Arnold Engineering Complex and will provide oversight of Sentinel ICBM (formally GBSD).

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist mission thread leads in managing and coordinating testing roles and responsibilities within test planning teams (TPTs).
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary government and contractor team to plan, test, analyze, and report through multiple program acquisition phases.
  • Decompose test requirements into test objectives, evaluation criteria, and required resources for system level tests and demonstrations.
  • Support use of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) applications and agile techniques in T&E of the weapon system.
  • Support the development of test requirements and detailed integration test plans, test procedures, technical and safety review boards (TRB/SRBs), test readiness reviews (TRRs), and test assessment reports
  • Oversee qualification and acceptance testing activities occurring at VSFB for cables, destruct systems, and onboard telemetry systems.
  • Support integration and advancement of government assessment tools through advocacy for technical approaches and development of specific tools to enable assessment.
  • Author independent assessments of contractor test results
  • Assess test support and systems integration progress and trends of testing, identify problems and areas of concern for assigned systems.
  • Maintain cognizance of all assigned Combined Test Force (CTF)/Test Team engineering activities.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Integrated Test Teams (ITTs) as appropriate.
  • Provide technical support and advocate integrated approaches of engineering efforts and support of test activities for which existing guidelines may not be available or applicable.
  • Serve as a test team participant in the development of overall plans such as the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), System Test Plan (STP), Developmental Test (DT) Report, recommendation for IOT&E readiness, and other technical documents


Experience and Skills:
  • Familiarity with ICBM weapon systems and related subsystems/equipment, their projected use in the military, and methods of testing.
  • Familiarity with test & evaluation planning and processes consistent with DoD acquisition directives and policies.
  • Demonstrated expertise flight test methodologies test planning, and test conduct is required.
  • Knowledge of Vandenberg range requirements (Range Safety, 576 FLTS, Frequency clearance, etc).
  • Demonstrated record of experience and accomplishments that are exceptional and/or unique.
  • Verbal and written communications are clear, concise, and at appropriate level.
  • Utilize resources effectively to accomplish mission, including ability to work effectively alone, unsupervised, or within a group.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Focused adherence to safety and security requirements.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%.


Education:

A Bachelor of Science degree. At least six years direct work experience or four years direct experience and an Associate's degree can be substituted for a Bachelor degree.

Security Clearance:

Must have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance at Top Secret.
