Full Job Description
What We Are Looking For

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the instrumentation, PLC, valves and other automation equipment associated with CO2 gas processing.

What You Will Do

Will be required to work on and be familiar with low voltage single phase and 480V electrical systems. Assist with troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Participates on teams installing complex communication and control equipment.
  • Assist in the design, installation, maintenance and repair of production automation and electrical equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting of PLC programs and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and calibration of devices, including transmitters, valve actuators, control valves and metering equipment.
  • Assist operations in operating and maintaining facilities where needed.
  • Serve as a Kinder Morgan representative to contract activities working on electrical control and automation equipment.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of I&E maintenance activities utilizing the KM work order management system and assure work activity alignment with the Cortez Production Unit Operations group.
  • Be responsible for ensuring top-class electrical safety, regulatory compliance and environmental performance.
  • Be responsible for Maintenance, PM, EHS / compliance, site inspections, and housekeeping related to electrical and instrumentation systems in area of responsibility.
  • Be responsible for strengthening team electrical/instrumentation knowledge and learning innovative troubleshooting skills.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with multiple process teams and plant level operations

What You Need

EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

EXPERIENCE / SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
• Minimum of 1 year of oil & gas industry experience in Electrical and/or Automation Controls.
• Must have AC three phase voltage experience.
• Must have DC voltage experience.
• Basic understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE including Flame Retardant Clothing (FRC's), which is provided by the company.
• The candidate must have a desire to serve as a working leader partnering with contract personnel.
• Safety process experience and ability to learn Kinder Morgan Safety and Compliance polices.
• Ability to read and understand electrical one-lines.
• The Cortez Production Unit Maintenance Group serves a diverse set of customers (Cortez Production Unit Operations, Kinder Morgan CO2 S&T Major Projects Group, as well as the Cortez Pipeline Operations group at times). The candidate must have a willingness to develop positive relationships with the group's client base.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
• Subject to random drug testing.

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft applications (including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other assigned computer programs.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including but not limited to the ability to work from written or verbal instructions.
• Must be able to speak and understand English.
• Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.
• Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, maintain confidentiality as necessary, and work effectively with limited supervision.
• Must be highly self-motivated, dependable, and punctual.
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds, waist high, on a frequent basis.
• Physical requirements include and are not limited to:

o Walk up and down stairs/ladders, sometimes to elevated platforms;
o Negotiate uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces;
o Standing and/or sitting for extended periods, including but not limited to inside work for training, working on computer

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Callout and unscheduled overtime is required and anticipated.
• Emergency response, call-out, and on-call availability is required and anticipated.
• Travel is required and anticipated; a company vehicle is assigned for this job.
• Must be able to work outside in varying, sometimes extreme, weather conditions.
• Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets.
• The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including motor vehicle record and credit check (as applicable to the position), after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
• Associates or technical degree is a plus

Pay Range

USD $40.00 - USD $57.50 /Hr.
