Description

Responsible for performing a wide range of trade specific services for industrial and commercial clients.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe work environment for all RK Service technicians, and all service site personnel. Support and mentor assigned RK Service technicians in all RK Service safety programs and all other safety related protocols. Support and assist corporate safety managers as required.
  • Ensure that the HVAC services provided by RK Service and Team Technicians meet contract and customer requirements (duties include but are not limited to; review tasking, provide input on work resolution write-ups, technical advice, site specific advice, quality communication, meeting customer expectations, etc.)
  • Directly liaise Sales, Service Coordinators, Area Superintendents and Technicians to provide for quality and profitable outcomes from Services work activities.
  • Assist Service Superintendents in performing Annual Reviews for team technicians.
  • Assist Service Superintendents in reviewing and reporting on RK Service profitability. Attend Service financial performance review meetings when requested.
  • Be available for team technicians to call in order to; share morale issues; promote positive team attitude; encourage team support with frustrating technical issues; etc.
  • Assist the Superintendent and Service Coordinators with the coordination of discipline specific service calls.
  • Review Individual and Service Team Open Call reports and follow up with technicians to expeditiously complete open calls.
  • Perform equipment start up and complete associated documentation as required.
  • Perform quality control inspections on team or area specific RK Services work.
  • Assist in the training of RK Services technicians for assigned team or area.
  • Plan and oversee Service field based activities, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Work and coordinate activities unsupervised, including, but not limited to: coordination of service personnel; procurement of parts, equipment and material; coordination of subcontractors; coordination with owner, customer, and/or general contractor.
  • Assist in pricing and establishing scope of work with Account Managers or Inside Sales when required.
  • Promote Service Team Technician's ability to seek and price Additional Work Authorization (AWA) work and engage with customers regarding needed future service work.
  • Complete all work documentation as required by RK Service procedures, including tech time, open calls and Safety related documentation.
  • Provide Technical trouble shooting and diagnostics to assist and support Service Team Technicians.
  • Guide Service Team Technicians in properly completing maintenance tasking, special forms, and assist in providing pertinent information to the necessary RK Industries departments.
  • Make decisions in a timely manner that is in the best interest of the customer and company.
  • Call for inspection(s) when asked or job requires, meet with inspectors, engineers and customers, to make sure job passes all required inspections.
  • Develop lead referrals resulting from service and maintenance activities for the Sales Department or Inside Sales.
  • Guide Service Team Technicians in the execution of any or all of the tasks listed above.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Superintendent 2:
  • Independent decision making.

  • Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented complexities.
  • Determines program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects and developing standards and guidelines for diverse activities.
  • Proven specialist expertise, typically 10+ years of experience, including fiscal responsibilities.
  • College/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills or equivalent combination and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.

Superintendent 1;
  • Indirect supervision.
  • Requires the use of advanced techniques and knowledge within his/her function.
  • Applies diversified knowledge of applicable principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments.
  • Makes decisions independently regarding complexities and methods.
  • Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters.
  • Liaison to groups within and outside of his/her organization with responsibility to act independently regarding matters pertaining to his/her function.
  • College/University graduate with 7 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.

Minimum Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to climb up and down and maintain balance on stairs, ladders and scaffolds while carrying tools and equipment.
  • Ability to see (naturally or with correction).
  • Ability to use arms and hands to reach, handle or manipulate and install heavy objects and materials.
  • Ability to balance, kneel, squat, crouch, bend, lean, stand, walk, climb, dig, backfill and compact.
