Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing all HR functions across a multi-brand, multi-state organization. This role supports over 600+ restaurant locations across 17 states and leads a team focused on delivering compliant, efficient, and people-centered HR solutions. The Director partners with leadership to drive employee relations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support business growth across three distinct brands while developing scalable training and HR content and proactively monitoring regulatory changes.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead, coach, and develop an HR team supporting a large, geographically dispersed workforce
  • Partner with executive leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives across three brands
  • Standardize HR practices, policies, and procedures across all locations

Training & Content Development
  • Design and deliver HR training programs for field leadership, including District Managers and General Managers
  • Develop and maintain HR training materials, toolkits, SOPs, and compliance resources
  • Create scalable content to support consistent execution of HR policies and best practices across 600+ locations
  • Facilitate training on employee relations, compliance, investigations, and performance management
  • Partner with operations to ensure training aligns with business needs

Employee Relations
  • Oversee complex employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective actions, and terminations
  • Provide guidance to field leadership on performance management and conflict resolution
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant handling of workplace issues

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across 17 states
  • Monitor, interpret, and implement changes in employment laws and regulations, ensuring timely updates to policies, practices, and training
  • Serve as subject matter expert on evolving labor laws and provide proactive guidance to leadership
  • Manage and oversee responses to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) claims and charges
  • Handle wage and hour claims, audits, and investigations
  • Oversee OSHA compliance, including maintenance and accuracy of OSHA 300 logs
  • Prepare and submit required federal and state reports, including EEO-1 reporting
  • Manage unemployment claims, garnishments, and child support orders


HR Operations
  • Oversee HR systems and data integrity, including advanced knowledge and utilization of ADP Vantage HCM
  • Ensure accurate processing and administration of employee records, compliance documentation, and reporting
  • Drive process improvements and system efficiencies


Risk Management
  • Identify and mitigate HR-related risks across the organization
  • Partner with legal and leadership on high-risk employment matters
  • Ensure documentation and processes support defensible employment practices


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 8-10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership in multi-unit or QSR environments
  • Deep knowledge of employment law, wage and hour regulations, and multi-state compliance
  • Proven experience interpreting and implementing changes in federal and state employment laws
  • Experience managing EEOC claims, wage claims, and regulatory reporting (EEO-1, OSHA 300)
  • Experience designing and delivering HR training programs and content
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, preferably ADP Vantage
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence senior leadership
