Full Job Description
OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced, forward thinking Human Resources Director for our location in Marblehead, Ohio.

The HR Director reports to the Executive Director and is a key member of the leadership team. The HR Director and team, work closely with the Corporate Office to ensure excellence in human resources services in order to help drive the achievement of Otterbein's mission of enhancing the quality of life and holistic growth of older persons. The ideal candidate is a system thinker who can proactively develop and implement processes that improvement the recruitment, retention, and development of all levels of employees while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Excellent collaboration and communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements programs to maintain an effective employee relations environment with special focus on recruitment and retention of large hourly workforce.
  • Administers and continually improves key human resources systems such as recruitment, orientation and onboarding, retention, performance management, safety and recognition.
  • Analyzes trends and develops action plans to address.
  • Develops, maintains, and ensures compliance to all community policies, procedures, and practices related to Human Resources issues
  • Ensures HR files are organized and complete for State Department of Health Surveys
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation, and ensures compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters such as FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.
  • Coaches' management in carrying out their human resource management responsibilities, including employee selection, performance reviews, promotion, counseling, coaching, discipline, and termination.
  • Recommends, directs, evaluates, and participates in staff development and training programs.
  • Uses technology to meet the Human Resources management needs.
  • Supervises and continuously develops the Human Resources Department staff.
  • Represents Otterbein in community

Special Skills and Requirements
  • Exceptional literacy, writing, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a staff.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing federal, state and local Human Resources laws and regulations.
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Computer & Technology Knowledge: Microsoft Office, Applicant Tracking Systems, HRIS

Qualifications
