Full Job Description
Your Role:

We are currently seeking an Engineering Quality & Human Performance Specialist supports the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) and supports the Human Performance Program for engineering and technical staff. This role helps ensure engineering work complies with company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements while promoting quality, organizational learning, error reduction, and continuous improvement. Working closely with the Quality Manager and engineering teams, the Specialist strengthens engineering effectiveness, project delivery, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Responsibilities:
• Assist with project financial administration, including cost tracking, cash flow monitoring, billing support, and revenue reporting.
• Support project budgeting, forecasting, resource utilization tracking, and variance analysis.

Quality Management & Compliance
• Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the QMS.
• Conduct audits, compliance reviews, and quality assessments.
• Monitor adherence to engineering procedures, standards, client requirements, and regulations.
• Support corrective and preventive actions, including issue investigation and resolution.
• Analyze quality metrics and recommend process improvements.
• Collaborate with project managers and technical leaders to improve project quality planning and execution.

Human Performance & Organizational Learning
• Lead and maintain the Human Performance Program for engineering and technical teams.
• Apply human performance principles to improve decision-making, communication, collaboration, and technical rigor.
• Identify organizational and human factors contributing to errors, rework, and project risk.
• Facilitate investigations, root cause analyses, lessons learned, and organizational learning initiatives.
• Promote high-reliability practices such as peer reviews, questioning attitude, effective communication, and continuous learning.
• Develop and deliver training, coaching, and awareness programs on human performance, quality culture, and error prevention.
• Establish and track performance indicators related to quality, learning, and human performance.
• Support the development of systems and safeguards that reduce the likelihood and impact of human error.

Performance Improvement
• Integrate quality and human performance principles into engineering workflows.
• Support technical risk identification and mitigation throughout project lifecycles.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and best-practice development across disciplines.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project outcomes, productivity, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Human Performance, Organizational Performance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in engineering, quality assurance, operational excellence, continuous improvement, human performance, or a related technical environment.
• Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, CSA N299.1, CSA N286, ASME NQA-1, and engineering quality practices.
• Experience with root cause analysis, organizational learning, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• P.Eng. designation and/or quality certifications are considered assets.

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $85,000-$110,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining compensation, including but not limited to education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
