What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

Operational Leadership

Partner with Operations, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Supervisors to support safe project execution
Spend regular time in the field understanding how work is actually performed
Support project planning and execution from an operational risk perspective
Help identify opportunities to strengthen critical controls before work begins
Provide practical advice that balances production, quality, and safety
Build trusted relationships across projects and business units

Serious Injury Prevention

Lead initiatives focused on preventing serious injuries and fatalities
Support identification and management of high-energy hazards
Evaluate critical controls and verify they are effective in the field
Participate in high-risk work planning and operational reviews
Assist project teams in reducing exposure to significant operational risks
Help improve how hazards are recognized, communicated, and controlled

Leadership Coaching & Development

Coach supervisors and project leaders in effective safety leadership
Mentor HSE Coordinators and emerging HSE professionals
Strengthen communication, planning, and decision-making capabilities across teams
Build trust through meaningful field engagement

Training & Communication

Develop and deliver engaging training programs and workshops
Create practical learning resources that improve understanding and retention
Translate complex technical information into simple operational guidance
Support organizational communication strategies that strengthen engagement
Encourage innovative approaches to learning, including visual communication and emerging technologies

Systems, Reporting & Follow-Up

Manage incident, inspection, audit, and improvement data within company systems (e.g., Flex Manager)
Ensure corrective actions are completed, verified, and effective
Analyze trends and performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities
Support management reporting and organizational performance reviews
Maintain HSE documentation that supports operational excellence and regulatory compliance

Project & Business Support

Support project planning, mobilization, and tender reviews
Assist with client requirements and regulatory compliance
Contribute to emergency preparedness and response planning
Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies
Support strategic HSE initiatives across multiple business units

Qualifications

Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new technologies and digital systems
Valid driver's licence with the ability to travel regularly to project sites
What You Should Know Before Applying

This role involves regular travel to construction sites
You'll be working in active, sometimes physically demanding environments
Some administrative and reporting work is required alongside field responsibilities, but this is fundamentally a field leadership role
You'll be expected to take ownership of your development while supporting the growth of others
