Job SummaryNetApp is seeking a strategic Principal HR Business Partner to support the Product organization in San Jose. Reporting to the VP, HRBP Product, this role will shape people strategy, strengthen leadership effectiveness, and help build a high-performing, inclusive culture that enables business growth. The ideal candidate brings strong business judgment, trusted executive partnership, and the ability to turn complex talent priorities, data-driven insights, and emerging AI-enabled workflows into clear, practical action.
Job Requirements- Partner with Product leaders to translate business priorities into talent, organization, and culture strategies that accelerate impact.
- Build trusted relationships across Product, Finance, Business Technology, Operations, and HR Centers of Excellence to drive aligned execution.
- Lead strategic talent work including workforce planning, organizational design, talent reviews, succession planning, development, and retention.
- Own high-impact special projects, including workforce data analysis, insight generation, AI-enabled HR workflow improvements, and potential M&A or integration work.
- Coach and advise senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, engagement, performance, change management, and organizational health.
- Use data, insights, and business context to identify trends, surface risks, and recommend clear actions that improve outcomes.
- Champion an inclusive, high-accountability culture while ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant HR practices.
Education- 15+ years of HR Business Partner or HR generalist experience in a multinational organization; technology industry experience preferred.
- Experience partnering with Product or technical organizations and translating business priorities into practical people strategies.
- Proven ability to advise, influence, and build credibility with senior leaders through complex talent and organizational decisions.
- Strong capability in organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, change leadership, and HR program execution.
- Analytical strength and curiosity, with the ability to turn workforce data, business trends, and AI-enabled tools into actionable insights and scalable workflows.
- Experience supporting complex special projects such as transformation, integration, operating model changes, or M&A-related people work preferred.
- Clear, trusted communication style with the judgment to operate strategically while driving practical execution.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 196,350 - 266,000 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
