Leads a team of HR Business Partners to deliver strategic human resources support aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and business objectives. Serves as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization, driving workforce strategy, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement. Balances hands-on employee relations support with enterprise-level consulting and change leadership.

Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to develop and execute workforce and talent strategies aligned with business goals.
- Lead and support change management initiatives, including restructuring, growth, and transformation efforts.
- Drive employee engagement and retention strategies across assigned client groups.
- Utilize HR data and insights (e.g., turnover, engagement, workforce trends) to inform recommendations and decision-making.
- Manage and lead in the following activities:
- Resolve complex employee relations issues, ensuring consistent application and understanding of organizational policies and practices.
- Provide guidance and tailored solutions to meet the needs of client population.
- Lead training, facilitate sensitive conversations, and recommend solutions to enhance the employee experience.
- Partner with leadership on organizational design efforts; advise on change implications and people impacts.
- Lead a variety of internal HR projects and client initiatives.
- Operates with a high degree of autonomy, setting priorities in alignment with organizational goals
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of HR Business Partners, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct people leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience across multiple HR disciplines, with strong knowledge of applicable labor and employment laws.
- Proven ability to influence and drive outcomes without direct authority.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with complex employee relations investigations.
- Experience advising senior leadership.
- Experience in organizational change or transformation.
- Experience in acute care, hospital, or academic medical center environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual communication platforms.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with Joint Commission, Magnet designation, or other healthcare accreditation standards.
- Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday).
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
The annual base salary range for this position is from $126,984 to $200,678, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
