GPI seeks a full-time Highway Engineer for our growing New Jersey operations in Pleasantville, NJ. We seek an individual ready to work collectively with a multi-disciplined team of engineers on exciting and challenging projects. New Jersey projects can involve a range of roadways, bridges, intersections, and trail designs, with a focus on complete streets. GPI understands our significant responsibility as engineers to provide safe, unique, and context-sensitive transportation solutions to the many communities and clients we serve. What You'll Be Doing:
  • Create plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects for public agencies and municipalities in New Jersey
  • Develop plans from conceptual design to final contract documents, including 3-D modeling, horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, grading, drainage design, and utility relocations
  • Utilize construction understanding to develop temporary traffic control and construction staging plans

What You Bring to the Table:
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • PE in NJ is required
  • Proficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D software
  • Experience with public agency clients, particularly NJDOT


Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
