Full Job Description
Job title: HEVA (HEOR) Business Partner
  • Location: Cambridge, MA or Morristown, NJ (hybrid with 3 days a week on-site requirement)

Main Responsibilities

This role will lead Health Economic and Outcomes Research activities for AYVAKIT® in Systemic Mastocytosis and emerging pipeline assets within the Global Rare HEVA team.
  • Lead the development and execution of asset-level HEOR strategies within the global HEVA framework for AYVAKIT® (avapritinib) in Systemic Mastocytosis (advanced SM and indolent SM) and assigned emerging pipeline assets, translating Target Value Propositions and access strategies into evidence hypotheses, requirements, and generation plans that address payer/provider/health system unmet needs in rare mast cell disease; operate with medium independence for strategic work and high independence for tactical execution.
  • Design and execute HEOR research - including economic modeling, database analysis, observational research, Clinical Outcomes Assessment (COA) development and validation, systematic literature review, evidence synthesis, and value dossier development - and operationalize and execute evidence generation priorities for assigned Systemic Mastocytosis indications and emerging assets, incorporating them into broader Sanofi planning documents such as the Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (IEGP).
  • Operate as part of a multi-functional global brand and development team responsible for designing clinical research programs to meet the evidentiary standards of regulators, HTA organizations, reimbursement authorities, and third-party payers; provide trial design recommendations; serve as a subject matter expert providing input to commercial, medical, market access, and strategy development teams; and align closely with the US HEVA team to ensure the global evidence strategy reflects US access and payer needs.
  • Develop collaborative research relationships with payers and other decision-makers to inform value demonstration strategies for AYVAKIT® and pipeline assets, leveraging payer interactions to identify strategies that improve the impact of research and build advocates for data; support interactions with global HTA bodies and reimbursement authorities; and engage with key opinion leaders and external research partners to advance HEVA science in Systemic Mastocytosis.
  • Contribute to scientific publications and presentations in peer-reviewed journals and at major congresses; distill complex HEOR findings into clear, audience-appropriate communications for internal and external stakeholders; maintain compliance with all relevant internal SOPs and external laws and regulations; and mentor junior colleagues on a case-by-case basis, sharing HEOR expertise and supporting their professional development.

About You
  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MS, MPH, or PharmD) in a scientific discipline
  • 5 years of experience in health economics, outcomes research, or a related field
  • Global product launch experience; understanding of payer evidence requirements and value demonstration in a competitive market
  • Demonstrated experience applying various HEOR methods to specific research projects and supporting global launches
  • Proficiency in principles of evidence-based medicine and clinical research methodology, economic modeling, and COAs
  • Experience in translating Target Value Propositions and access strategies into evidence hypotheses, requirements, and generation plans
  • Established track record of scientific and/or methods publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Knowledge of global HTA processes and guidelines; experience with HTA submissions preferred
  • Strong ability to partner with colleagues from non-HEOR functional areas
  • Compliance with all relevant internal SOPs and external laws and regulations

Technical Skills:
  • Demonstrated understanding of disease physiopathology, drug mechanism of action, health economic modeling, clinical development principles, epidemiology, biostatistics, statistical programming, COA development, systematic literature reviews, and network meta-analyses
  • Working proficiency with HEOR-relevant digital tools and data platforms; ability to apply digital solutions to enhance research efficiency

Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation skills; significant experience making presentations to senior management strongly desired
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical industry; demonstrated integrity on compliance considerations and solid ethics
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, team orientation, and ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems
