POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The Health System Project Manager (HSPM) serves as a critical resource supporting, managing, and driving high-visibility strategic and operational projects and initiatives across UW Medicine’s Enterprise Project & Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). This position supports senior leadership in executing business and operational initiatives that may span multiple departments, entities, or lines of business.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide project management for the development and implementation of key initiatives and enterprise-critical projects across strategic, operational, financial, or School of Medicine portfolios
- Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business or service lines. - Interact closely with leaders and work directly with stakeholders across the system to drive successful completion of tactical and strategic initiatives

- Adapt project management approach to the specific project type assigned
- Monitor and manage key deliverables of initiatives to ensure consistency with EPMO standards and approaches
- Build and utilize common EPMO project management tools and standard approaches while managing multiple stakeholder groups
- Report on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating clearly to project stakeholders and leadership
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in the areas of information systems, business administration, health care administration or related field
- 5–7 years of demonstrated success/results in project management, including having overseen and managed multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability to adapt project management approach across different project types (operational, strategic, financial/regulatory, School of Medicine), applying the right approach under the direction of a Senior PM or the Senior Director
- Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, employees, and teams to work toward deploying a different future state
- Strong executive presence, including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort presenting to large and small audiences
- Proven experience motivating high-performing individuals; creates an inclusive and collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently; demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying priorities
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work deliverables; strong written and verbal communication in all settings
- Builds mutual trust and encourages respect and cooperation among team members
- Proficiency with Smartsheet, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, with experience presenting to stakeholders
- Proven ability to work in an ambiguous, matrixed, multi-entity health system environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective. -
- Comfort working within a matrixed team structure, including being directed by a Senior PM on complex, multi-PM initiatives without a change in reporting line
- Requires minimal supervision; models effective leadership skills; communicates effectively with project team members and stakeholders
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$116,592.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$158,400.00 annual
