Pay: $100,000-$110,000 per yearSouthern Textile Service is seeking an experienced Head Plant Engineer / Maintenance Manager for our South Hill, VA facility - a family-owned regional company serving customers since 1934.
You'll bring 3-5 years of maintenance leadership experience, leading the team while overseeing equipment reliability, facilities, utilities, and capital projects.
What You'll Do- Lead, coach, and schedule the maintenance team, including emergency coverage
- Build and improve preventative/predictive maintenance programs; track KPIs like uptime, MTBF, and MTTR
- Oversee boilers, air compressors, and plant utility systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-driven systems
- Support capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Need- 5+ years of maintenance experience, including 3-5 years leading a team
- Strong knowledge of several of: boilers, air compressors, hydraulics/pneumatics, electrical/PLCs, welding
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills; ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Associate's degree in engineering preferred, or equivalent experience
