Reporting Relationship and Scope of Position:

The Head of Financial Reporting is a key leadership role within the Chubb Life Global Office, responsible for the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting oversight across the segment's international insurance operations. This role partners closely with local market finance teams, Corporate Consolidation, Accounting Policy, Investment Accounting, and Actuarial to resolve complex accounting matters, support business initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in reporting quality and operational efficiency.

The Head of Financial Reporting will report to the VP, Global Financial Reporting Controller with a focus on talent development, execution excellence, and serving as a liaison between Corporate and local market teams - helping Corporate gain a deeper understanding of the Life segment's financials while guiding local teams in meeting Corporate reporting requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Own and oversee the end-to-end monthly close and quarterly financial reporting process across all subsidiaries, ensuring the financial results are accurate and in compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
  • Review the financial reporting package and footnote disclosures submitted by subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data, as well as compliance with Corporate & Segment requirements.
  • Provide accounting guidance and technical support on complex, non-routine, and unusual accounting issues, partnering with relevant stakeholders to deliver practical and well-reasoned solutions for accounting and reporting matters.
  • Establish and maintain a robust internal control environment over financial reporting, ensuring full compliance with internal control standards and proactively managing relationships with internal and external auditors.
  • Support business initiatives from an accounting and reporting perspective, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment is applied, reporting processes are well-designed, and proper controls are established from inception.
  • Define and execute a continuous improvement roadmap for the financial reporting process, identifying automation opportunities and implementing practical solutions to enhance reporting quality and efficiency.
  • Provide oversight and coaching to Global Office controllership staff, fostering a culture of execution excellence and talent development.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive financial accounting and reporting experience within a public or private insurance organization, with demonstrated expertise in Life Insurance and U.S. GAAP technical accounting.
  • International insurance operation and public accounting experience are preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP financial reporting, consolidation processes, and internal controls. Experience with LDTI disclosure is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with demonstrated experience developing and coaching finance teams in a fast-paced, matrix organizational structure, and a proven ability to foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with key stakeholders, serve as an effective liaison between Corporate and local markets, and effectively articulate financial results and technical insights across diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness, including flexibility to work with international teams across different time zones, specifically the APAC region.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.

The pay range for the role is $200,000 to $240,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors.
