Full Job Description
About the Team:

The Global Fashion team is one of eBay's most vital verticals, generating approximately $10 billion in Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV). Our focus spans apparel, sneakers, watches, handbags, and jewelry. We drive initiatives like eBay's Authenticity Guarantee, Connected Products, and Certilogo, all aimed at building the future of circular fashion.

Role Overview: Category Manager, Accessories, US Fashion

As Head of Category Manager for Accessories on the US Fashion team, you will own the end-to-end growth agenda and P&L performance for the accessories category, representing approximately $300M in annual GMV.

This is a high impact senior role for someone who can operate as both a strategist and commercial owner: diagnose performance, understand category levers, identify the highest value opportunities, build category strategy, and drive cross functional execution to deliver measurable GMV, customer, and seller impact.

You will partner closely with Product, Marketing, Trust, Analytics, Seller Teams, Authentication Operations, and eBay Live to grow supply, improve conversion, strengthen trust, and build differentiated buyer and seller experiences. The ideal candidate brings a management consulting background, strong marketplace / ecommerce fluency, proven AI experience, and the ability to turn ambiguity into clear, actionable plans. You will report to the Director of Luxury.

What you'll accomplish
  • Own category P&L and growth: lead end to end category performance, including GMV, conversion, ASP, supply, active buyers, seller performance, traffic, promotions, trust signals, and inventory quality
  • Run the business with rigor: report on performance through weekly and monthly business reviews, understand key drivers, question the data, and translate insights into clear recommendations and actions
  • Set the category growth agenda: define where to win, where to invest, and what to deprioritize, grounded in buyer demand, seller economics, competitive dynamics, and eBay's right to win
  • Lead strategic projects: diagnose barriers to growth across selection, pricing / value, seller activation, trust, conversion, merchandising, and supply quality. Quantify opportunities and drive cross-functional plans with clear owners and milestones
  • Drive seller and supply strategy: identify priority seller segments/ brands, and inventory gaps. Partner with seller teams to grow sellers and unlock differentiated supply
  • Improve buyer conversion and trust: partner with Product, Trust, Marketing, and Authentication Operations to improve the buyer experience, strengthen confidence in high value purchases, and scale trust programs such as Authenticity Guarantee
  • Lead cross functional execution: drive initiatives across Product, Marketing, Analytics, Trust, Seller Teams, eBay Live, and Operations with clear owners, milestones, decision points, and success metrics
  • Drive AI enabled transformation: identify where AI can unlock step change outcomes and partner with Product/ Analytics/ Eng to pilot, measure, and scale
  • Build executive ready narratives: create crisp materials for senior leaders that clearly articulate the problem, opportunity size, options, tradeoffs, recommendation, and ask
  • Unblock execution: influence across teams, resolve tradeoffs, and ensure follow-through, especially when priorities compete

What you'll bring:
  • Management consulting background: proven structured problem solving and executive ready communication. Experience breaking down ambiguous business problems, sizing opportunities, and driving complex workstreams from strategy to execution
  • P&L/ category management experience: experience owning or influencing commercial performance, with a strong understanding of the levers that drive GMV, conversion, ASP, supply, traffic, seller performance, and buyer demand
  • AI experience: led or partnered on GenAI/ ML initiatives with measurable impact, such as automation, model driven workflows, analytics/ decisioning, seller tools, merchandising, listing quality, pricing guidance, or experimentation
  • Strong commercial operator: able to run the business with rigor, understand performance movements, question the data, identify root causes, and translate insights into clear actions
  • Analytical horsepower: comfortable with messy data; able to synthesize quickly, distinguish signal from noise, and turn analysis into actionable recommendations
  • Executive storytelling: able to distill category performance, growth opportunities, tradeoffs, and decisions into crisp narratives and materials for senior leadership
  • Ecommerce fluency: strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, including supply / demand, seller economics, conversion, pricing, promotions, trust, traffic, and merchandising; Fashion and/or re-commerce experience is highly desirable
  • Influence without authority: navigates complex stakeholder environments and drives alignment across Category, Product, Marketing, Analytics, Trust, Seller Teams, Authentication Operations, and eBay Live
  • Ownership mindset: operates with urgency and accountability, manages multiple priorities, closes loops, and drives measurable impact against category targets
  • Travel: willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
