Job DescriptionHead of Advanced Markets & Field UnderwritingAs Head of Advanced Market & Field Underwriting, you will play a key role in positioning, strengthening, and growing iA's presence within advanced case and national accounts segments.
In this role, you will provide end-to-end leadership on complex files, leveraging deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and field credibility. Acting as a central anchor between underwriting, sales, risk management, and key partners, you will actively contribute to promoting iA's value proposition, enhancing distribution capabilities, and supporting internal talent development.
What you'll accomplish with usAs Head of Advanced Market & Field Underwriting, you'll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:
- Assume end-to-end accountability for advanced market cases and national accounts, from pre-underwriting through to in-force servicing.
- Develop and position iA's field underwriting expertise with specialized advisors and distribution partners.
- Provide strong technical leadership in both medical and financial risk assessment.
- Analyze and assess complex sales concepts to ensure alignment with risk appetite, profitability objectives, and client experience.
- Lead and mobilize a multidisciplinary team, including underwriters, case coordinators, and specialized experts (e.g., tax, actuarial), while acting as a credible leader with internal teams, distribution partners, and reinsurers.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and training sessions, and actively support talent development and knowledge transfer.

- Has significant experience in underwriting within the advanced market segment, including proven leadership in managing high-impact, cross-functional initiatives.
- Advanced level of English proficiency required, as the role involves regular interactions, presentations, and collaboration with partners, distributors, and stakeholders across Canada.
