The RoleWe're looking for a
Prototype & Test Engineer to help bring new electromechanical products to market. You'll be part of a small, mission-driven team and work on multiple parts of the system. You'll build prototypes, develop and run critical tests to validate designs, and work closely with the engineering team.
This role requires being on-site
5 days in our San Francisco office.
How you'll contribute- Prototype and test complex electromechanical systems, including sensors, pumps, mechanisms, and electronics.
- Build prototypes using techniques like 3D printing, machining, and quick turn tooling with in-house tools and external suppliers.
- Design and run experiments to validate the performance of new designs, as well as track and analyze results.
- Design, build, and deploy custom physical test fixtures and jigs for R&D and manufacturing environments, including specification of sensors and mechanical interfaces.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to support efforts across the product development lifecycle.
- Develop test systems using embedded hardware like Arduino, and coding in Python.
What you need to succeed- 1-3 years of hands-on prototyping and test experience with electromechanical systems
- Proficiency with 3D modeling (eg. Solidworks, ProEngineer, etc.).
- Experience using and maintaining basic shop tools like 3D printers, band saw, milling machine.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment from concept to production.
- BS in engineering or equivalent. MS preferred.
- Ability to occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs as needed.
