Full Job Description
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Hardware Engineering-related occupation.
  • Position requires 2 years of experience in the following: System-level knowledge, including hardware, software, and their interactions; Mobile phone hardware subsystems, including application processor, multimedia, GPU, modem and wifi; Optimizing software for power and performance improvements; Linux kernel and Android frameworks; and Debugging and root cause analysis for system issues (code, firmware and software).


About the job

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000 - $189,000 15% bonus target equity benefits determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Learn more about benefits at Google .

Position reports to the Google (Mountain View, California) office & may allow for a hybrid schedule per Google policy.

Responsibilities
  • Work with cross-functional hardware and software teams to model power consumption and define power targets.
  • Analyze and optimize the software running across the key components of the chipset (SoC) including CPU, GPU, Memory Subsystem and Connectivity.
  • Debug and resolve battery drain issues.
  • Collaborate with Android app teams across Google to help them optimize power.
  • Develop tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption.
