Full Job Description
Team: Growth
Reports to: Nick Coetzee, VP (Growth, Operations)
Location: New York City preferred (hybrid: Tuesday-Thursday in office). Exceptional remote candidates will be considered.
Compensation: $175K-$200K base salary; $200K-$240K target total cash compensation
The Role

We're looking for a Growth Product Manager to own Axial's website products and broader digital growth roadmap - including our website, free tools, data products, and demand generation experiences across our core audiences. This is an individual contributor role with substantial ownership, broad cross-functional exposure, and a mandate spanning strategy, execution, and measurement.

Responsibilities:

Acquisition & Business Outcomes: Own growth across three core outcomes: total qualified leads, business owner acquisition, and buyer acquisition. Success will be measured through audience expansion, qualified leads, new member growth, and the reach and utility of Axial's proprietary market intelligence as a driver of those outcomes.

Website & Growth Product Execution: Own the end-to-end execution of Axial's website and growth product roadmap - from scoping and coordination through QA and launch.

SEO, AEO & Conversion Rate Optimization: Drive organic traffic and conversion through SEO, AEO, and on-page optimization across programmatic and editorial experiences.

Experimentation & Measurement: Establish clear measurement plans for experiments and releases by defining success upfront, monitoring performance after launch, and diagnosing results. Maintain a recurring analytics practice across traffic, conversion, acquisition, and engagement, and use those insights to shape future priorities.

Growth Strategy & Roadmapping: Develop a clear point of view on Axial's most important growth opportunities and translate it into focused quarterly roadmaps. Balance big, high-conviction bets with a steady stream of incremental optimizations, pressure-testing priorities with leadership and our retained growth consultant.

AI-Assisted Building: Use AI-assisted development tools to independently prototype, build, and launch pages, tools, experiments, and lightweight features. Apply AI across copywriting, design iteration, data analysis, prototyping, and QA to improve both the quality and velocity of your output.

Growth Technology & External Resources: Own the tools, platforms, and AI infrastructure that power our growth work, including analytics, experimentation, SEO tooling, and AI-assisted development. Evaluate where to invest, consolidate, or cut, and manage freelancers, consultants, and service providers as high-quality extensions of the internal team.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the connective tissue across design, growth engineering, and content. Ensure development aligns with scope, scope aligns with strategy, stakeholders remain informed, commitments stay on track, and important details do not get overlooked.
What Great Looks Like

You're a genuine thought partner. You proactively identify bottlenecks and growth opportunities, share your opinions, and contribute deliberately to longer-term strategy and quarterly roadmaps.

You move quickly without being sloppy. You know when to act on a high-confidence decision and when a bigger bet warrants more deliberate thinking. You don't let perfect become the enemy of shipped.

You communicate proactively and clearly. In writing, in Slack, and in a room, you adapt your style to the audience, give specific feedback, and keep the people around you informed.

You operate with rigor and attention to detail. You catch edge cases, inconsistencies, and copy that doesn't quite land. Projects have clear scopes, dependencies, owners, deadlines, and follow-ups.

You care. You bring energy and curiosity to Axial's mission, products, subject matter, and the audiences we serve.
Background We're Looking For

There is no single path to this role. We care more about demonstrated ability, judgment, and quality of execution than perfect pedigree. That said, we've found the following backgrounds tend to predict success:
  • Career Growth / Website Product Managers
  • Growth / Product Marketers turned Product Managers
  • Ex-BizOps professionals who've migrated toward Product Management
  • Ex-consultants who transitioned in-house into product management or growth roles heavily focused on demand generation

Specific things we'll look for:
  • 6 - 10 years of professional experience, including 4+ years in relevant roles at high-growth technology companies
  • Evidence of meaningful contributions to demand generation, including experience shipping web products that increased traffic, conversion, or other measurable growth outcomes
  • Comfort using AI tools to accelerate your own output
  • Strong written communication and consistently high-quality deliverables
  • A track record of clean cross-functional execution, with engineers and designers who loved working with you
  • Analytical fluency: you can read a dashboard, diagnose a trend, and design a measurement framework
  • Domain knowledge in M&A, private equity, or financial services is a plus, but not required. Experience serving business owners, investors, or other sophisticated professional audiences may also support strong strategic intuition.

The Stakeholders You'll Work With
  • Senior Growth Engineer
  • Senior Designer
  • Marketing Operations Associate
  • Content Marketing Manager
  • Retained Growth Consultant
  • Product Marketing Consultant

You'll report directly to the Head of Growth and work closely with this cross-functional group. Our retained consultants will serve as additional thought partners on strategy, analytics, and product direction.

Benefits
  • Robust medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid for by Axial
  • 401k program
  • Flexible vacation policy (minimum 15 days encouraged)
  • Health & wellness reimbursement program
  • Pre-tax commuter program
