We are seeking a leader with deep experience guiding corporate, program, and product communications from late-stage development through commercialization, with the ability to elevate narrative, anticipate inflection points, and integrate communications across the business.

This role suits an accomplished leader who is equally strong in client leadership, strategic counsel, and internal team stewardship, someone who enjoys hands-on engagement with senior clients while also helping to build scalable systems, talent, and ways of working that support firm growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with Client Relationship Leaders to shape long-range communications strategy tied to business, pipeline, and corporate objectives
  • Serve as escalation point for complex client situations, high-stakes moments, and reputational risk
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and strategic clarity across all client engagements
  • Lead development of integrated corporate, product, and program communications strategies across the client portfolio
  • Guide messaging and narrative development tied to clinical data, regulatory milestones, financing events, and commercialization
  • Partner across practices (media, medical, digital, brand, consulting) to deliver cohesive, cross-disciplinary solutions
  • Identify opportunities to expand and deepen client relationships through proactive, high-value engagement
  • Contribute meaningfully to new business development, pitches, and thought leadership
  • Actively shape best practices, operating models, and standards for the Biotech client services group
  • Lead, mentor, and develop senior leaders and teams, fostering accountability, growth, and collaboration
  • Support workforce planning, staffing strategy, and talent development across the group
  • Model Spectrum's values through inclusive leadership, clear decision-making, and strong partnership

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success leading multi-account portfolios and senior client relationships
  • Deep experience with late-stage clinical programs, regulatory milestones, and early commercialization
  • Strong background in corporate communications, issues management, and executive positioning
  • Prior experience in oncology and/or immunology strongly preferred
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, writing, and client-facing communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire senior teams while remaining hands-on where it matters
  • Highly organized, decisive, and comfortable operating in complexity
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of accountability and discretion

The anticipated salary range for this position will be $220,000-$240,000. Salary is based on job-related factors such as: years of relevant experience, qualifications and/or certifications. Spectrum reserves the right to modify this pay range at any given time.
