Job Title: Group Leader, Documentation and TrainingJob Location: Montréal, QCJob Code: 39211Job Schedule: Day ShiftCompensation Range: Between $66,000 - $116,000 CDN annuallyThe Group Leader will lead the team responsible for the development and coordination of the training materials (and courseware) related to all aspects of the IPMS product (development, operational and maintenance).
They will also interface with multiple teams to support them in their documentation deliveries (review, format, release and delivery of the documents).
Essential Functions: - Analyze the requirements and decompose into various items for distribution amongst the team
- Plan and assign the work to the team in order to meet the various deadlines
- Will evaluate and coach the technical writers, course developers and instructors in the team
- Will develop and maintain the infrastructure to support all the training needs related to IPMS.
- Will participate in the training sessions given to internal\external customers of the IPMS.
- Will design, develop, test and support courseware for internal\external customers of the IPMS
- Will provide support to PRE-FAT and FAT as required.
- Will provide support to marketing department for specific demos and presentations as required.
Qualifications: - BA/BS in Technical Communication or related discipline preferably in a technical field such as computer science or a focus on English, writing, or communications, or at least ten years of experience in writing documentation for software or in technical training.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
- Prior experience in Instructor training is ideal, especially in IPMS training
- Experience working with the following tools preferred: Word, Author-It, Acrobat, Jira, Confluenceini
- Experience in presenting technical information in a live setting, such as classroom training, presentations, or video conference.
- Regular use of a content management system (CMS) to manage the lifecycle of technical documentation including draft, review, and publish phases.
- Proficiency in the development and delivery of training/facilitated learning
- Experience in the development and usage of the L3 IPMS product is preferable.
- Has leadership to drive a team of technical writers, course developers and instructors
- Well organized and capable of planning/distribute work for the team
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including willingness and ability to consult with subject matter experts from engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communications and experience working with content in multiple mediums
Eligibility Criteria: - Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance.
