Full Job Description
At Blu Omega, we harness connected data to solve complex intelligence challenges. We're looking for a Graph Database Engineer who's ready to architect data in ways that go far beyond traditional models - someone who thrives at the intersection of data science, software engineering, and mission support. You'll build and optimize graph database solutions that power analytical tools used by decision-makers across the Intelligence Community.

If you're driven by the need to uncover hidden patterns and relationships, and you want your work to directly support national security missions, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement graph data models to represent complex real-world domains.
  • Develop performant graph queries and algorithms to support analytical workflows.
  • Build mission applications that take advantage of graph database capabilities like relationship mapping, pattern detection, and inference.
  • Optimize graph database performance, ensuring scalability and reliability in production environments.
  • Partner with data engineers and analysts to integrate graph technology into larger enterprise systems.
  • Participate in architectural and design reviews for graph-based solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging graph technologies and recommend solutions aligned with mission needs.
  • Create clear and maintainable documentation for schemas, queries, and systems.
  • Share best practices on graph modeling, querying, and visualization across the team.

Qualifications:
  • Deep Graph Expertise: You understand the value of nodes, edges, and properties - and how to model them effectively.
  • Query Proficiency: Hands-on experience with graph query languages like Cypher, Gremlin, SPARQL, or GraphQL.
  • Data Modeling: You know how to translate domain knowledge into graph schemas that support performant queries and analytics.
  • Algorithm Knowledge: You've implemented graph algorithms like shortest path, centrality, and community detection to support real-world use cases.
  • System Experience: Proven ability to deploy, administer, and scale graph databases such as Neo4j, JanusGraph, or similar.
  • Graph Visualization: Familiarity with tools such as D3.js, Gephi, or KeyLines to bring connected data to life.
  • Optimization Mindset: Skilled in tuning performance, indexing strategies, and managing transactional integrity in graph environments.
  • Integration Savvy: Comfortable connecting graph databases to external systems via APIs, ETL processes, or microservices.
  • ETL and Data Pipelines: You know how to move data - cleanly and at scale - into graph platforms from a variety of sources.

Nice to Haves:
  • Prior experience working within the Intelligence Community (IC) or on national security missions.
  • Familiarity with the intelligence cycle and working in classified environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across teams.

Salary Range: $130K - $140K
Our final salary offer will be based on several factors, including depth of technical skills, work experience, education, certifications, and clearance
